Definitely wait 2 weeks. I placed an order and 1 week later received a VIN. Then I placed my order on hold, and then received another VIN within 2 days of my hold being lifted.

Got my vin yesterday after taking my order off hold…. They are literally giving me 4 days to pickup… and it’s thanksgiving and I’m not in town. Thanks Tesla; wtf

Has anyone taken delivery of a 2022 model year yet? Looks like there’s a guy on Reddit saying that due to a chip shortage, the wireless phone chargers and front USB ports are disabled on his SR+, and I’m curious if the LR AWD has the same issue…

I’d definitely ask your SA, but not sure if it offsets now with the $1k base price increase happening at the same time…

Tesla just raised prices $1k on both the base and LR AWD (again). Also silver is now a second free paint option. Congrats to all with orders already in!

Congrats! Did you decode the Vin to see if it’s a 2022 model year? Otherwise you can paste it here and we can decipher it for you (you can leave the last 5 digits off)

Wow lots of updates the last couple of days. Congrats to some of you! Over on the Model Y ordering page a few folks were lucky enough to get the mythical VIN with an “N” indicating a 2022 model year. Anyone here gotten lucky yesterday or today? 😆

Yea I was somewhat shocked since I honestly didn’t want to take delivery until December (which it is what it was saying at checkout)

Probably saves an early loan approval that could expire before you take delivery would be my guess (and and the associated credit pull)

Now that we know the 2022 VIN coding scheme, I wonder if there’s a way to brute force check to see if any are valid and in production… or maybe just wishful thinking 😝

Just a quick update that I was able to wait online and use the chat (waited 30 minutes to get someone) and they were able to fix my issue. Now it shows me as a Standard Plus... although I’m still missing immersive sound, but not as big of a deal.

Curious if yours was fixed? My SR+ has been downgraded to standard range also... in Florida as well

No response from Tesla. Looks like even my standard cruise control and immersive sound are gone too. Tried factory reset and hard reboots too... So strange

@smashcz I just changed my battery display to read mileage and I definitely still have 240 as my max charge, despite it saying “Standard Range” now in my menu... Are you certain it isn’t just a display bug for you? Might be in my case as well

I’d vote that you’re better off getting the shade since it’s already fairly heavily tinted and you’ll likely see minimal improvement

Hate to rain on the parade, but if it’s anythinf like the software I received with my SR+, they are able to remotely add/remove mileage and fog light enable/disable. My fog light switch wasn’t available and then they corrected it. Also, for range unlocks the Mode S (S40) was able to be increased...

Do you use teslafi or have the stats app installed on your phone? It does seem a bit high. I’ve tried changing my password & logging out of both and saw a big improvement

Two people on reddit have confirmed that they were shown an internal document at the Tesla sales center explaining now that the only difference between the SR and SR+ will be 20 miles reduced range and no immersive audio. One mentioned seeing that fog lights will be disabled. Both confirm heated...

Yea, sorry I re-read my post and it is misleading. What I mean to say is that you don't have to open the app on your phone (or even have it active in the background) for the auto-open and auto-close to work with the Tailwind hardware. It is hands-free, just like the homelink. I have this setup...

Sorry, I need to clarify this bullet. The way the Tesla blog post is written, it implies that streaming & traffic is a discriminator between the SR & SR+, so I think that they might give it to the SR+

FYI, I had mobile service come out and diagnose this exact issue 2 weeks ago. Your diagnosis is correct, and there is actually a pseudo-TSB (and new part number) for this piece. They're coming out on Friday to replace the charge port.
