This is definitely the case. I would need a second charger if I wanted to take it with me. I don't drive long distance much and I've gone without it the few times Ive driven somewhat far. The superchargers are common enough that it wasn't a major concern.

I believe I have the older UMC. It believe it charges at 40 amps, but I'll have to make sure on that. I'll keep an eye on the charger to see if it's getting warm. Thanks for the heads up.

2014 p85d here. It's happens to be outside my work all the time. Cell signal is fine. It's pretty cold here since I've had the car. It only takes about 5-10 seconds to start up but I'd prefer it to be instant like when I start from home.
