The cars don't have to leave the Texas because the paperwork is done out of state. I've heard Cal and Nevada technically do the selling. There is no law that says the cars themselves have to leave the state. Weird how that rumor got started. Sure had a lot of traction though.
I talked with a SA in Austin a few weeks ago and she said that they can ship to SC, home, or maybe a factory pick up. The cars won't be shipped out of Texas and back in.
Also, there were confirmed deliveries to employees. Those cars never left the city...
I think Tesla will reverse on removing the MC. But in the meantime, everybody should look for rebates and tax credits for EV Charger installation.
My rebates and tax credits cover 2/3 of my WC installation.
One thing for sure, when I trade in my Model 3 for a Model Y later this year I'll keep my mobile connector that came with the 3.
I haven't used it in 3 years but I want one in the car.
Does California have laws that affect the paint? Not with regard to color but drying and/or hardness? If yes, then Shanghi, Berlin and Austin could have better.
Tesla does not have to do that. They have the paperwork transactions done out of state. My Model 3 transaction was to Nevada. According the the SA 3 weeks ago, we will have the option of pickup at SC, home delivery or factory pickup.
According to the SA in Austin, there are 3 possible delivery methods to Austinites, Home, SC, or Factory pickup. They haven't worked out the details. That was 3 weeks ago.
In the beginning I was overly obsessed with wanting the 4680. Then I realized that Tesla's Flagship Plaids use the old, old 1865 batteries. Not even the 2170s. But there is so much uncertainty regarding what Austin will build first, I decided to wait until after April 7 to order.
I test drove a Y today in Austin and I asked the SA how they will deliver. She said they resolved the issue about selling to Texans. The delivery would be determined later, could be to customer's home or picked up at the factory or Service Center. I think only the paperwork flows to another...
Yes. Had to quit stopping for yellow lights (hard braking), had to turn very slowly (aggressive turns). But the killer is the Forward Collision Warnings. Triggered all the time when cars in front would change to turn lane and drove close to the line. Sometimes the car would be 2 or 3 cars...
I agree with you. I'm delaying my order until I am certain of an Austin build for the following reasons:
- I want the 4680
- I live in Austin
- My Model 3 is fantastic and I don't mind waiting.
On the other hand, I test drove a Fremont MYP and the build quality was outstanding. I do not...
Version 2021.44.30.15 installed this morning. Everything looked normal on my first drive. But on the return trip I had several errors.
- Screen graphic showing the car path was frozen
- FSD would not engage. Temporarily unavailable.
- same thing for AutoSteer
- Regen braking stopped working...
How the heck did you figure that out?
I got an update Christmas morning. The new update changed buttons on the screen from stacked to side by side. But it put my L door on the right and my R door on the left. So I reprogramed them. Then the App controlled the wrong door. I could not figure...
Here's what a person could do:
-Maintain good documentation...
-Threaten to withhold payment, if they don't budge...
-Withhold the payment and hire an attorney to write a letter. If they don't budge...
(Thats's where I would give up)
-Hire an attorney and sue.
Here's my thinking on an early...
I have free supercharging 5 miles from work. Free charging at work. But I charge at home for the convenience. I dropped my fuel bill from $2500 yr to $500 yr. Pareto's law, first 80% is easy. It's not worth the effort to eliminate the last 20%.
You tease. I was just getting ready to offer a trade for my LR AWD = $$$. Offer is still open but it has to be Midnight Silver. My wife would never know the difference. It would be awesome for me!
I did almost the same thing, okay a little worse. Before I could get an estimate I hit another. Came to the conclusion that I need to wait until I get used to the car. And I may buy a new one and make my worst one a spare.
