    Random Roadster Sightings

Thanks Henry, I wondered if that was your adapter. The charge cable looks so close to the port it looks almost as if there isn't an adapter there. I hope you don't have too much trouble getting the issues work out and that you still have me on the list for when you get back around to me. (sorry...

    Holy Hot Handles, Batman!

I would love to see a carbon fiber handle upgrade. It would be lighter (the metal handles are decently heavy), and would not have the heat issues of the current handles. I've mentioned both the hot handle issue and the idea for a carbon fiber handle to Tesla. Our local ranger thinks its a great...

Anyone know in 5.9 what speed will now lower the car from "High" back to normal? Or from "Very High"?

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

Utah update: 85 kWh standard, 19" wheels with original goodyear tires, 7200 miles, 351 wh/mi lifetime. A lot of back and forth 5-10 mile trips in Utah's winter definitely drives up the wh/mi average.

Southern Utah charging infrastructure, seeking charger type advice

MikeC, to my knowledge there is not a level 2 charging station in Cedar City other than the campgrounds' 14-50s. I have asked the SpringHill Suites Marriott if they will allow me to use one of their wall outlets and they have said yes, but these are just standard wall outlets. I also asked them...

Utah Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Haven't kept up with the forum for several days... and the world changes... Very excited to see Green River, AND Moab, AND Blanding, AND Beaver! This is just awesome! It will make getting around the southern half of the state very, very nice!

    Random Model S sightings

Just saw this (a few days late)! Yeah, getting the sound proofing upgrades, rear back up camera, updated double DIN, and putting on the winter wheels! The Roadster is back in Utah now, with the winter wheels just in time for the big storm. The roadster with winter tires does very well, but...

Utah Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Cottonwood, Don't get me wrong, I really want a supercharger in Moab, and am of the "more superchargers the better" school. It just seems odd to me to build out a less used route before the major used routes. Maybe Tesla will surprise us and open both routes in rapid succession, particularly...

Utah Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

Sure, Moab is a fun place, so is Blanding. However, if they prioritize the superchargers for "Elon's trip" because that is his preferred route to drive rather than prioritizing the superchargers for the usefulness of routes more people drive, then I believe his trip will look much more like a...

Utah Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

But that map with super chargers in those locations just doesn't make any sense for the initial buildout... Plus, it contradicts this map for the "Winter 2013" superchargers, which is still the official map on Tesla's website

Any chance Tesla might support iTunes Radio directly?

Now with Wi-Fi enabled on 5.6, I would love to have my car connect through Homesharing to my mac and auto sync my iTunes library and playlists into the car. I guess it would be onto the USB drive. Have we heard anything more about song storage directly in the car?

Is an AWD Model S Necessary?

We live on a hill, against the mountain in Utah. We have a 2008 Subaru Outback with all season tires. We have never needed true snow tires for the Subaru because it does fine with climbing into our neighborhood no matter the snow conditions. The Roadster with winter snow tires does well, but not...

Update: BryanW - 328 wh/mi, 4012 miles, 19", 85kwh, Utah It got cold quickly in Utah this week. Had been running 294 wh/mi for the last 1000 or so, noticed it bumped up today to about 312 wh/mi on my commute in about 45 degree weather.

Utah Supercharger Locations (location speculation, discussion)

I have outlined my opinion on Utah superchargers in another thread, complete with distance numbers. In brief, there are 3 main roads through the middle part of Utah that make a triangle for almost all of the traffic that passes through the southern half of the state. Pull up Google maps and zoom...

Utah No Service Center (yet) How Does it Work?

I can't help you too much on the warranty vs service coverage. So far, there have...

Living in Utah - What Options for the Model S

Yeah, another Utah Model S! Congratulations, you will love your car! We have the pano roof and we love it. Probably the best aspect of the pano roof is the view from the back seat which really is nice. The tinting and heat blocking works well. All summer long, and this one has been hot and...

How many of you took a "Leap of faith"?

Voted yes. Reservation in 2009. Could not make it to any of the Get Amped tour for a test drive. I did get a chance to sit in a beta Model S in the Denver store, but decided to vote yes because the interior on that beta (glad we are beyond that stage) made the leap of faith even greater...

Really hot for the rear facing seats

We have the rear facing seats, as does a friend here in Utah, we both have 3M crystalline tint on the rear glass as well as everything but the windshield. The rear facing seats are not comfortable for any significant distance here in the Utah sun if the temp is > 90 degrees. Using all of...

Reuters: Sales of the Model S through May were 8,850

I think one of Tesla's success in disrupting the market is that the Model S appeals to different people for many different reasons. For example, the reason I and a friend at work bought Model S's is different from either of these 2 mentioned groups. Neither of us could easily buy a Ferrari, and...

Southern Utah charging infrastructure, seeking charger type advice

Very nice! I'll talk to service. I have a HPWC from the original run that will need to be upgraded. If it's an exchange rather than just the fuses, I'll ask if I can keep the old unit to donate to the Festival for 60 amp charging. If not, since they are shipping the new HPWC, I'll write the...

    Utah Tesla Owners

@Denarius - Thank you for your contributions to the forum. It's great to have other Utahn's active here on TMC. When I last spoke with someone from the Denver service center, he said they look to put in a new service center once there are 200-250 cars in the area! As Salt Lake looks to be...

Vernal could be tough. There isn't a charging station listed in Vernal in PlugShare. Not all Walgreen's have charging stations. Southern Utah charging infrastructure, seeking charger type advice

I'm going to assume that the dots are still estimates, much like the original map. Which is probably also why you can't zoom in on them for more details. Southern Utah charging infrastructure, seeking charger type advice

@Denarius, With respect to the HPWC in Cedar City, I am still considering it as a donation to the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Cedar is a destination itself, and will sit right between 2 superchargers. If you supercharge on the way in, see a few plays and supercharge on the way our, there...

Southern Utah charging infrastructure, seeking charger type advice

Honestly, I'm not sure today's announcement helps me either way. I think it's great they are putting in more superchargers in Utah than they had initially announced back in the day. Given the increase in number, I think the placement looks pretty good, but will of course depend on the exact...

    Vin # 10,000

Didn't the VIN # sequence restart with after Sig and Canada-Sig cars? If so, then VIN 10,000 would not be the 10,000th car built or sold. Including Sigs, didn't we pass 10,000 Model S's on the road a while ago?

Really hot for the rear facing seats

We haven't hit the peak of summer, but we've gotten days in the upper 70's with bright intense sun. Before tinting, the kids definitely got hot quickly in the rear facing seats, and the direct light was too bright and visually uncomfortable for them. Several weeks ago, we had the hatch and...

Still in the earliest planning phases. I've stalled waiting for a few pieces of information: 1. The fuse issue with the HPWC. I don't really want to deal with having a HPWC installed, then have to figure out how to get it upgraded once they fix the 80 amp charging issue. Once they do fix the...

Changes in the Roadster - Tesla Gear Shop

ipdamages, Thanks for the offer! The ranger will be taking care of it soon, so I think we're good. I inquired because I thought it might be a good thing to have on hand if the rangers were ever seriously delayed in being able to get here. If that does happen in the future, I may reach out to...
