Any good examples of Tesla Wall Connector installed between garage doors?

Does anyone have a wall connector installed between 2 garage doors? My parents are buying a Model Y and I dont know if this is a viable option but it seems like a really good spot for installing one at parents place. It would make it really easy for them to charge the Tesla because they would...

Tesla engineers crapped the bed on the Gen 3 Wall Connector

In Ontario anyway... So apparently this new Tesla gen 3 charger MUST be installed with 6 awg wire and a 60 amp breaker. No longer can the Tesla wall connector be wired for the charge rate that is it set to. reason being.... it can be cranked up by simply using a smart phone.... This comes...

2 Tesla wall connector load sharing

Is there a calculation to determine how fast two vehicles will charge using load sharing on a 60 amp circuit? I'm trying to determine if load sharing on a 60 amp circuit sharing 48 amps of charge is better or equal to 2 dedicated 30 amp circuits at 24 amps of charge rate.

Tesla wall connector solid red light

We had our Tesla wall connector professionally installed back in July and this morning we noticed a solid red light on the unit. The manual says that a solid red light means Hardware failure. I think the unit needs to be replaced at least that's what the electrician said. Does anyone have...

Quick question charging while door open

Noticed that the charging km range gets cut in half at the same current when the door is open on a tesla model x. The car was charging at 32A and 32kpm with doors closed. As soon as a door is opened, the charge rate remains at 32A but the kph was 16. Is this normal?

A question about different charging rates

How many different battery sizes are there for model 3, model s and model X? Lets say we are going back as far as 2014. From what I understand there is a 75D, 90D and 100D. Is this correct? What are the corresponding max charging rates for them? 75D = 32Amps max? 90D = 48Amps max? 100D = 48...

MOdel 3 versions are so confusing!

I get that Model S and Model X all have a max charge rate of 48 amps but it seems that Model 3 is available in a few different options or is just refereed in different models. I would like to get some clarification on the different models and which charge at 32 and 48 amps please. Model 3...

    Used model S charging

My colleague is thinking about buying an older used Tesla Model S with a 70D battery. Does the mobile charger that comes with this version (Gen 1 mobile connector) charge at 40 amps charge rate or is it 32 amps like gen 2?

    Which Nema connector to buy

Since Tesla stopped shipping the 14-50 adapter with the vehicles in May, would it make sense to buy a 6-50 instead for a charging receptacle? The way I see it is that the 14-50 requires the neutral wire and its just one more wire to add to the conduit. I think the 6-50 will be a cheaper...

Adding a charger to my 100 amp panel

I'm in Ontario. Would anyone here have experience using a "demonstrated load" calculation instead of upgrading the service? I can acquire my full years power consumption from hydro one which shows what I use each day, even down to the hour. I have read from different forums that this information...

    Solar microfit and ev charger?

Just a quick question please. Does a solar net metering installation need to be considered when adding a car charger to the existing service for the load calculation? I know 240V electric appliances are the main factor like hot tub, second stove, pool heater etc but what about if I have a solar...

So many mixed answers - Electrical requirements for installation

I've had 4 quotes so far, 2 of which were from Tesla recommended installers. The non Tesla recommended electricians just gave me a price over the phone so I was no impressed, they did not want to come have a look in person. Both Tesla recommended installers came to see the job. One of the Telsa...
