Yep you won’t be able to repair a seal on a gen 1 roof, it will need to be upgraded to gen 2. You can tell which one you have by the location of the roof rack mounting caps.

I will say the latest update has slightly improved the charging curve in ideal situations (warm battery, 75 degrees outside) for the 85 pack. At the lower end of soc I’m see kWh + soc = ~120 and in the middle range of soc it’s now ~114. I’ll take anything I can get.

Free supercharging, free connectivity, a sunroof and rock solid AP1 makes my road trips way more fun than shaving a few minutes off of supercharging I have to pay for ;D

Resurrecting an old thread but this happened with my model s last night. With the car locked someone was able to remove the adapter while the car was charging. Very odd.

I have this Dashcam but it has been forever since I’ve connected to it to review video. I believe it is configured through the app. Also you may be able to google the install docs online. Great Dashcam.

Honestly this is the truth. For free I don’t mind waiting an extra 5-10 minutes to charge. Since I exclusively supercharge my 85D pays me about $200/month in free charging.

Yep hot battery soc + kw rate = 110, warm batt it equals 100 and cold bat it equals 90. For example hot batt at 60% soc you’ll be getting approx 50 kw. I still have hope that at some point they will give us back some charging speed but I’m sure they are doing this for a reason and I’m fine with...

I hear there are nice improvements to the 85 pack supercharging curve with this update that I got last night. Going to test it today and will report back.

Currently pre-update around 110 is the best I can do in a similar trip so this is a somewhat significant improvement to get it to 130. Can’t wait!

There’s been at least one post which said the V11 update that is rolling out to the mcu1 cars boosts this from 100 to over 130. Anxiously waiting for the update. Right now on cold days it’s 90, pseudo warm battery is 100 and on road trips on hot days it’s been around 113 lately.

There is a bellows inside the metal part of the spring that inflates. Over slightly rough roads this bellow hits the metal and causes the rattle.

It’s the bellow in the metal part of the air spring rattling against the metal. More of less the noise always comes back on this type of spring over small bumpy patches.

I was under the impression (there is a video from Gruber) that the 100kw pack physically changes the safety and dynamics of the car and this is why the older cars don’t support it. But $5500 for a 90 pack upgrade doesn’t sound too bad.

Yes I am serious. 7 year old car that looks and drives like it just came off the showroom floor. There are a few small things that have consistently failed across this model year all fixed under warranty. Not a squeak, sound or rattle in my S.

2015 85D 70k miles. Amazing I’ve had exactly the same things fixed - battery heater, 4 handles, tailgate chinch mech, mcu replaced. Also they upgrade the pano roof from gen 1 to gen 2 due to some small leaks. Amazing well built car.

Just great. Looks like about a 25% boost to the current charging curve. Can’t wait for the update.

Similar situation with my 85D. Replacement is a cyber truck I have a very early reservation number. The 85D is perfect, next gen seats, every option and standard suspension. Looks and rides like it just came off the showroom floor. Used car warranty and battery warranty both expire in March...

So for the 85 packs here’s a quick rule of thumb for supercharging speeds. Cold battery: Soc + charging rate = 100 Warm battery: soc + charging rate = 110 So on a cold battery if I’m at 50% soc it’ll be charging at 50kw, warm battery it’ll be 60kw. This doesn’t completely hold true below...

There have been lots of posts on Twitter from folks with 75, 90 and 100 packs of improved speeds at lower soc. Seems like very few mcu1 cars have gotten the update so far.

The latest release has improved speeds on the 90 and 100 packs. 48.12.1 is not the new release with improved charging taper.

Any chance you could supercharge and check on the new charging taper?

If you could supercharge I am really interested if our charging curve on our 85’s improved too.

Is this with the newest update? I’m seeing faster charging on newer packs but haven’t seen any reports from an 85 pack.

I’m interested in this as well. I’ve seen on twitter the 100 and 90 packs are getting improved supercharging speeds.

It surprises me that they are putting refurbished 85 packs into the 85s that have had batter My 85D supercharging speed (in cold weather) seems about the same as before.

Thanks for saying I don’t use critical thinking, who do you think you are? I actually own an 85D which I’ve seen get nerfed and the charging curve flattened more and more. There’s a reason and there’s a problem.

Hit piece or not, it doesn’t inspire confidence in my 85D.

The issue is with the air bladder in the strut. Eventually the bladder starts knocking against the metal part of the strut internally. There is nothing you can do to fix it other than replace the strut and then eventually it happens again.

Trial and error with the wires, eventually it will snap in fine when the wires are out of the way enough.

I had a leak in my 2015 first gen sunroof that was repaired earlier this year. Never realized until now that they replaced it with the second gen roof. Obviously no issues anymore.
