    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

But all of the accessories on the website are for the pre-refresh model 😤

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My SA said he didn't really know but suggested I switch it to cash for now and they'll change to financing once my VIN gets assigned. This seemed the safest approach to me.

Still says March on mine. 3 hours to go! Keep checking out my window to see if Elon has dropped my car off yet.

Side note: It would be nice if Tesla at least released some accessories for the refresh S on the store so I have something to do besides refreshing this forum 😅

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I don’t think that’s a refresh. It has normal plates (not manufacturer) which means it would have been delivered to a real customer (and possibly some time ago if that state issues temporary plates at first).

Yeah the wheel match is great, I was worried they'd be darker. Add a little tint on the windows and the MSM is extra stealthy and sleek for sure.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm having second thoughts on my MSM order after seeing the red haha. The black bar on the trunk looks really out of place though on red. Wonder if it could be wrapped to body colour.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I just gave in and renewed the tabs on my current car which expired this week (was really hoping the S would get delivered before). So this pretty much guarantees VINs will get assigned tomorrow :D

Post-refresh LR vs Plaid rated range, and impact of choice of rims

Plaid has 22 fewer rated miles per the configurator. I'm guessing that this is a result of the extra weight/extra power of the third motor (ignoring range impact of the driver constantly flooring it to take advantage of the 1.1s faster 0-60....)? And of course the Plaid+'s much increased range...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

12/5 order in Seattle - also got pushed to March via SMS. Delivery advisor did reach out on Monday to offer some 2020 inventory to me but declined. Not too bothered, this is a "unnecessary but I want it" upgrade from my 2018 AWD - however my tabs expire late March so hopefully I get something...

    MPP Comfort Coilover reviews?

Any recommendations for installers in the Seattle area? One shop quoted me $1600 (including balance and alignment).

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Mine switched from Dec 19-31 to "Estimated Delivery: 2 - 4 weeks from order placed date" (which was last week - so I'm not complaining much, you guys have been waiting much longer).

Seattle P3D: all-season tires vs winter wheel + tire package

Might be a dumb question, but where are people getting their TSportlight rims+tires (or other third party options) installed? I think it's a faux pas to get a tire shop to install rims/tires you bought elsewhere? Will Tesla service do it?

    Creaking Steering on Model 3 - 21k

This is happening to my Dec 2018 build. It also is sporadic - seems worse in the cold in the morning (anecdotal, maybe). I took it into the SC and guess what... they couldn't reproduce it (even though I did when I was backing it into the parking spot there). Sigh. I have another appointment for...

Need help deciding between Performance and Long Range Model 3?

Both cars have the same battery though right, post-refresh? The range difference is purely those 20" wheels? (And I guess the quoted Performance range now is just the same as what the LR AWD was last year).
  24. RB88

Any Model 3 Performance Package Owners Switch from 20" Wheels to 19"?

Has anyone powder coated/plastidipped these to something darker? Agree they're pretty ugly as-is. Thinking about upgrading to the 2021 P3D but figuring out wheel options. The 20" are so nice (mixed feelings on the new rims, though) but what to do in the Seattle "winter" I'm not so sure on.

AP sees the sun as a Red traffic light at dusk

Yep, was stopped at lights facing the sun in Seattle yesterday evening and it was picking up the sun as a third traffic light - kept switching between yellow and red (as I guess the orange fell in between them). once I started moving it disappeared, so I guess the software was basing it on the...

TeslaFi and other AWS and GCP clients currently blocked access to Tesla API

TeslaFi (and other 3rd party stuff) apparently being blocked by Tesla : TeslaLounge Hope Tesla isn't cracking down on third-party APIs. Or if they are, they better provide something like TeslaFi for us.

    Cabin air filter change tip

Changed this at the weekend. It was the worst. Glad I had a ratcheting screwdriver for that screw but still. Gave myself some nasty carpet burn on my elbow from contortionisting to get that out. And fairly sure I lost a clip or two from the center console into oblivion in the middle of the car -...

Seattle Area- recommended Tesla-friendly body shop?

Accurate also had the highest quote out of any of them. I went with Tesla’s own shop in Bellevue who quoted the cheapest (by quite some way). Result was fine. Was a rocker panel replacement and blending.

    Tesla's vs Jeda Wireless charger

Nomad is so much better. Jeda is really slippery (on my iPhone with a case anyway) and build quality just isn’t there. Jeda can do 15W vs 7.5W for Nomad though - but irrelevant for iPhones currently.

Is it bad for the battery to leave Sentry on all the time?

@camalaio - that's super informative and backs up the concerns in my mind (just I was thinking more about charges - not just general battery wear). Okay, that's fine - fortunately my allocated parking spot is visible from a Nest outdoor security camera I have, so hopefully if a neighbour or...

Is it bad for the battery to leave Sentry on all the time?

I notice when Sentry is on the car doesn’t sleep (obviously) but also periodically does “micro charges” for a few minutes to keep itself at the set charge. Does constantly performing these micro charges have any impact on the battery? I park outside at home so leaving Sentry on for peace of...

    Wall charge ranging from 2 - 4 mi /hr?

This isn't normal on 120v. Sometimes voltage may been seen to drop as low as 110v, but amperage shouldn't drop. It could be heat issues either due to old wiring, outlet or breaker. I would start with replacing the outlet, then the breaker (if you're comfortable doing that). I used to charge on...

Anyone have an RTIC 45 cooler? Does it fit in the sub trunk?

Get one of these splitters and then plug it into it. I can confirm the top insert fits with this splitter (the plug is short enough). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C4HN23X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AK57EbGGVC30J

Scrapped up rocker panel - alternative ways to repair?

Do you have a Tesla-owned body shop near you? If so - get a quote from them. I had significantly worse rocker panel damage, local shops were quoting $3-4k. Tesla did it for $1.2k. Perfect job.

Some general confusion / frustration with reduced regenerative braking

I definitely think they’ve changed something with the regen breaking to make it more conservative. This time a year ago the weather was similar but I wouldn’t get any dots. Now I’m getting a few dots at the start of drives still too.

    No range loss!

In a similar position. Had mine since March 2019, 8800mi, mainly just trickle charging on 120v/20A to 80% and maybe 15-20 SC visits. Still at 310mi max displayed range.

Installing Wall Connector on electrical box

This isn’t true, no? The manual explicitly states (on page 5) the max amperage of the circuit can be selected and it will work appropriately, just charging slower. I’ve read plenty of posts of people using it on 30A/50A etc.
  46. RB88

Installing Wall Connector on electrical box

Yep the builder put them in for all of the assigned parking from the start. I have seen this for most of the new constructions with garages in Seattle (usually including a 14-50) but only for some with off street parking. I think it’s a big plus for townhouses without garages because it can be...

Installing Wall Connector on electrical box

Actually occurs to me looking at it it might not be all that hard for me to remove the box and mount the wall connector on the wood myself, keeping the existing tubing for the cable run for bottom entry. Rather than hire someone.

Installing Wall Connector on electrical box

Hi all, Looking to purchase a new townhome. The parking lot comes with an electrical box with a 50A hookup. Right now the box just has a face plate covering it up, but I presume the intention is for owners to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet on it. See attached picture for the box. My question is -...

    Charging our new Model 3?

You need to pull out the J1772 adapter while holding down the release button on the J1772 plug (the release button triggers the car to unlock the port). Basically grip them both and pull them both out at once.
