Mobile app update is coming but I am not impressed with the rumored features

The article is not very specific about the expected features. I am still holding out hope for being able to turn on defrosters/defoggers remotely!

Car updated this morning. Now wipers & music don't function as expected

I'm not sure if this the same problem your having, but since the latest round of updates (2.52.20, then 2.52.22 this morning), audio from my phone often does not work when I first enter the car. (The car recognizes the phone and appears to start playing the last source where it left off, but...

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

Winter is coming! Does anyone have a suggestion for turning on front and rear defrosters remotely? Too bad the app does not do it (yet?). Obviously there are bigger priorities, but it seems like adding the icons to the bottom left and right of the "Climate" tab of the app would be pretty...

    Firmware 7.1 - For Classic Model S

Hear, hear! - - - Updated - - - I just noticed that change this morning---completely inexplicable. It is not like they needed the real estate for something else. Too bad, I used that feature frequently.

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

Thanks Johan. I see that my post did not capture the first part of PureAmps's post, which discussed the possibility of remotely turning on front and rear defrosters. Sorry about that. Does that change your answer?

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

Another winter is almost upon us. Any idea whether this update to the app is in the works? Does anyone know if the "Remote S" app supports this function?

Supercharger - Tinton Falls, NJ (Jersey Shore Premium Outlets)

I was there today and tried plugging in. No juice yet, but I could hear the transformer humming. Great to have an option off the GSP.

Any plans for 4G on the MS?

I agree that 4G will be nice when it arrives, but it does not warrant delaying a purchase decision in my opinion. I suspect every day you delay getting behind the wheel of the Model S will be a day you look back on with regret once you have it.

    Remote Activation of Front/Rear Defrosters

Good thought. Glad to hear you have been pushing for something similar. I have no doubt we will see this functionality in the app eventually, particularly with many thousands of owners experiencing their first winter with the car. - - - Updated - - - I emailed my customer advocate when the...

    Remote Activation of Front/Rear Defrosters

Has anyone figured out a way to remotely activate the front/rear defrosters? Being able to turn on the cabin heating generally is of course fantastic, but sometimes defrosting the front and rear windows is what I real need. It is a shame that we don't yet have that functionality on the...

    Banned from Parking Garage?

I pulled into a parking garage in Manhattan yesterday morning and was stunned to be turned away by the attendant. He was very apologetic, but said he had been instructed by the company not to accept Model Ss. When I asked why, he said he was told they were too expensive, and the liability and...

    19" Turbine Wheel Solution

I had them made by EVOD Industries in California to fit the Luganos. The price for a set of four with a machined finish was $375; polished would have been $450. I get the sense that there would be a discount for a bulk order, but I wanted to check them out first before recommending the product...

    19" Turbine Wheel Solution

Well I finally got the center caps. Here is one picture. I will post some more when they are on the wheels (hopefully this weekend). They came out pretty nicely.

    Lugano Center Caps

These are center caps I had made to fit the Rial Lugano wheels. They are solid aluminum, so quite a bit heavier than the plastic center caps that come with the wheels (or the OEM center caps for that matter).

Would it hurt Tesla to put one J1772 Port at every Supercharger location

I think it is a great idea. My understanding is that one of the reasons New Jersey would not allow Superchargers on I-95 or the Garden State Parkway is because it would discriminate against owners of other EVs at a public facility. Silly rationale, I agree, but there it is. If the problem...

Four Rial Lugano 19" wheels bent in two weeks - are they up to the task?

I hesitate to make this post for fear of jinxing myself, but I am coming to the end of my second winter driving Rial Luganos on abysmal New Jersey roads, and I have not had any issues with bent rims. - - - Updated - - - I'm really sorry to hear about the issue you had with the Rials, vgrinshpun.

Headlights - Contantly getting flashed by other cars thinking I'm using high beam

I have had my Model S for about 14 months now and never had an issue about getting flashed at night until about a month ago. At first I thought it might be a night-time version of the Tesla thumbs up, but in light of this thread and the sudden frequency of the gesture, I will get it checked by...

I bought a pair of Rain-X Latitude wipers. Although they work well, they stand higher off the glass than the OEM wipers and obstruct the windshield wiper fluid spray. The car is in for its annual service, and I am going to have them just replace the Rain-X wipers with standard blades. I would...

19" Turbine Wheel Solutions...and a question or two

    19" Turbine Wheel Solution

Is it necessary to note the position where your seasonal tires were last mounted?

I hope to put my summer wheels/tires back in service this weekend. I am wondering whether I should mark the winter wheels/tires coming off the car in any particular way so that they get rotated correctly when I put them back in service in the fall? I assume you want to avoid the risk that...

    19" Turbine Wheel Solution

FlasherZ, I did a fair amount of research before purchasing these wheels, but I don't have nearly the knowledge or experience on this topic of some on this forum (e.g. wycolo, jerry33). All I can tell you is that the wheel/tire combo performed admirably for me this winter. The wheels require...

Would you buy 19 inch turbine wheels?

Al- Sorry I missed this post. I still love the Luganos. They handled well throughout the winter, and I have had lots of compliments on them. The weather took at turn for the worse recently, so I've still got them on for the moment. I'll probably make the switch back to 21"s the first week...

    Positive Roadside Review

Driving down a side street in my town this morning, I saw a group of 10-year-old boys about 200 yards ahead on skateboards/scooters. One of them saw we coming, pointed at the car, then ran out into the middle of the road to wave me down. I had a brief but fun interaction with them that still...

Would you buy 19 inch turbine wheels?

I am pretty sure the silver Wolfrace Luganos in Artsci's post [#71] are a rebranded version of the Rial Luganos I have been using. It looks like the weather will be warm enough for me to put my 21" OEM wheels back on next weekend.

I propose a "Owner of the Year" award

I love it. Great idea, artsci. Perhaps there should be an awards dinner at or around the time of the TM annual meeting. It would be a great opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate what TM and its owners are accomplishing.

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

424 wh/mi for my first 3,600 miles. Most of those miles are being logged driving my son to school early in the morning in the cold with lots of hills. Not ideal conditions. I am expecting much better when the weather warms and school lets out.
