    Punctured seat! Screw it!

+1 on finding a good leather repair guy. A few years ago I took my brand new G63 to the powdercoater and had removed the brush guard and had it in the back cargo area (seats folded down) to save a few minutes (instead of removing it when I got there). I had a momentary lapse in judgement and...

Consistent driver side rattle at speed

100% it's the wheel wells. I had the same noise driving me crazy for about 3 months and ended up using a strip of black gaffer tape to secure the edge of the wheel well to the fender itself. Fixed it on the first drive.

    Rattle: SOLVED.

This is more of a public service announcement than anything, but I'll preface it with a bit of background. I picked my car (2019 Dual Motor Performance) in March. I felt the initial build quality was better than most I've seen, and the car was absolutely silent from day 1. No creaks, rattles...

    Anyone have this spoiler?

Keep in mind that a lot of these spoilers are just open source molds taken from other similar sized sedans. I don't think anybody would intentionally take the time to create a mold for a spoiler that is 6 inches short on either end. I happen to know for a fact that at least one of the Model 3...

Black Model 3 with white interior

Hard to see the white with my 15% tint, but I am glad I went that route. I think the black/white contrast is a great look.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Finally got around to taking some better photos of my wheels. They are a set of custom made Klassen ID M10R Monoblock Forged in a staggered 20x10.5" and 20x8.5" setup, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s EVT's in 235/35/20 & 275/30/20. Klassen had to alter the design slightly to account for the correct...

Driving with Sunshades (Top and Rear) - Keeping the Wife Happy

FWIW - I have both the sunshades. Combined with my 15% Tint, the car is pretty dark on the inside. So much so, that with sunglasses on, the rear window visibility is extremely limited. Living in sunny SoCal this isn't really a problem, but I wouldn't recommend the rear sunshade with a (dark)...

Aftermarker Sound Upgrade of 3 Front 4" speakers

dfwatt, What method did you use to get solid connection to the front wiring harnesses? I'd be concerned about the longevity and current using the headers that are referenced above. Were you able to get more wire, or did you find an easier solution?

    Any Model 3 Owner Cyclists?

Former Professional. I find the trunk is large enough for my disc brake road bike by folding down the back seat. Can even fit it without removing the front wheel as long as you rotate the handlebars to drop the wheel between the front seat-backs. That being said, I have always been a fan of the...

    New Shoes

Finally got my new wheels! They are a set of custom made Klassen ID M10R Monoblock Forged in a staggered 20x10.5" and 20x8.5" setup, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s EVT's in 235/35/20 & 275/30/20. Klassen had to alter the design slightly to account for the correct offset and hub/rotor clearance for...

    Cruise control not available

+1 Same thing happened on 12.1.2. Issue was resolved by re-formatting the corrupted USB drive. I had (one day previously) removed it without saving due to a Sentry alert, and the autopilot/cruise stopped working the moment I re-inserted the drive.

    Sports car enthusiast opinions wanted

I posted this in another thread, but I hope this provides some input: My weekend car is an AMG GT, V8 Bi-Turbo. This is a 'track focused' machine that I have had tuned (ECU/Downpipes) to a bit under 650hp. This cars main limiting factor is traction, as even a light tap of the gas and the rear...

    P3D+ Acceleration

I put mine on the rear shelf behind the center headrest on the plastic piece. It's almost like it was meant to be there, and I can see the blue light blinking in the rear view mirror to know when it's on!

To wrap or not to wrap...

I have owned a lot of different vehicles over the past 20 years or so, and I have never really thought to wrap any one of them until I picked up my 3. I'm not sure what it is about the car, (or Tesla's in general) but it seems like (compared to other car brands) a LOT of owners wrap them...

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

FWIW - my weekend car is an AMG GT, V8 Bi-Turbo. This is a 'track focused' machine that I have had tuned (ECU/Downpipes) to a bit under 650hp. This cars main limiting factor is traction, as even a light tap of the gas and the rear tires spin. I have gotten myself in a bit of trouble with this...

    Rear Speakers / Sub out

I know this has been discussed in a few threads previously, but I'm re-surfacing this in a new thread because I haven't found a concise answer from someone who has had this issue and then resolved it. I noticed the other day that the sound in my car (P3D with Immersive Sound) was 'dead'...

Vendor Tesla Model 3 | DIY Ceramic Coating

I was very hesitant to do go the DIY route on my ceramic coating, but ended up purchasing a complete Cquartz finest kit on Amazon, and it took me around a day and a half over the weekend to apply 4 coats. I coated the windshield, roof, wheels, etc. and I can say that it was 100% worth the time...

    New feature? Slow stop.

I noticed the same thing. With the latest update I received (2019.8.5) It now recognizes when you come to a stop on an incline and activates the 'hold' features automatically. I can say, with certainty - that this was not the case before the update. I often have to wait in line on an (uphill)...

    Help me like black

BTW - These pics were taken about 1 month after I took delivery. The 4 coats of Cquartz Finest basically keep anything from sticking (dirt, mud, bugs) and the car is REALLY easy to clean. I simply use a bottle of Griots spray detailer with a clean microfiber every few days, and it looks like it...

    Help me like black

Black with White interior: Like you, I toiled. But black (In my humble opinion) looks the absolute best if you don't mind keeping it clean. Just invest a little extra time/money in getting a ceramic coating put on the car the weekend you take delivery (I did mine at home over the course of a...

    Autopilot latest switcheroo

I am in the same boat. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they would pull this crap without some sort of a contingency place toward appeasing current or recently-new owners. I would have saved nearly $3k and still haven't received my spoiler and rear badge (I ended up just purchasing one...

    UP’s new CF spoiler

No issues with the mounting. That sucker is on there for good.. I pity my future-self in the event that I ever get the car wrapped and have to try and remove it! I suggest that if you try to install it yourself that you do the following, as you only have 1 shot. 1.) Clean the crap out of the...

Short Commute - Trickle Charging OK?

A little background: I recently got my M3 Dual Motor Performance for commuting and errand purposes. I have about a 12 mile commute (each way) 5 days per week = 120mi/week or 480mi/month or 5760 mi/year. I typically don't drive my M3 on the weekends. That being said, my commute is up and over...

    Tint Help

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I toiled and went back and forth on colors and ultimately decided the blacked-out look was the way to go. When I was younger, I always had black cars. When I got into my 30's I realized that black was WAY too much trouble to keep clean, so I decided to go...

    Tint Help

I will say that the tint looks a little less dark in real-life, it was pretty overcast when I took the photos, but that being said - around here (SoCal) it's a pretty big car culture area, so the cops don't really bother with window tint and front plate tickets... if they were looking for those...

    Tint Help

For reference, here is Llumar Formula One Pinnacle Window Tint (15% all all 5 windows + 15% on both roof panels + 50% Ceramic on the windshield) I also have the factory Tesla sunshades installed on both the front and rear windshields. I was worried about it being TOO dark, but I'm glad I went...

    Got 2019.8.5 tonight

Just got home, and received the update. Seems like more of an update-to-the-previous-update, as it basically said the same features were 'new'. The only difference I found was the automatic lane changes on Navigate on Auto Pilot.

    UP’s new CF spoiler

Anybody looking for a set of 20" Performance Wheels/Tires?

Anybody looking for a set of 20" Performance Wheels/Tires?

I believe they are 'compatible' I just think the difference has something to do with optimized camber based on the 20" vs. the stock aero wheel for instance. I know I have seen plenty of RWD's that have the larger wheels on them, they will probably just wear a tad faster, as any non-stock wheel...

Anybody looking for a set of 20" Performance Wheels/Tires?

I ordered a custom set of wheels, and they will be ready in around 3 weeks if anybody is interested in a new set of 20" Performance Wheels and Michelin Tires from my P3D, I'm willing to let them go for a great deal. Currently they have 34 miles on them, and will probably have around 200 or...

Chrome Delete - Los Angeles Recommendations?

If your willing to go down to OC, I would highly recommend Keen Wraps. They work out of TintPlus in Laguna Hills, and they have done a ton of Model 3's. I just had mine done, and it looks painted. Kenan does a really, really good job. $599.

White Interior with Black Door Panels

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have the white interior because I liked the seats - but I'm not a huge fan of the door panels. I've already wrapped the dash cap, and plan on having the headliner done in Alcantara, but would LOVE to find someone wanting a set of white door panels and...
