Sentry Mode - Depressing how many people open doors into the car

Maybe the other round for me - I've almost had someone take out the falcon wing doors. They decided to reverse into a space whilst they were closing. Fortunately I stopped them closing in time. Funny thing was that when they got out they banged their heads on the semi-closed doors o_O

    MX MOT North London

I've taken my MX into Park Garage in High Barnet over the past 3 years for (1) 3x tyre changes (summer to winter and back again) and (2) 2x MOTs now. Never had any problems with them. A small family run outfit and are super nice.

Squeak and rattle on front MX

I’m not sure what the warranty status on repairs is. I had assumed it was 12 months. My warranty expired july23 and the repairs were in feb23 and may23. I think it’s fair if it’s a new part but I don’t think it is. From my understanding the technician told me they should have replaced it when...

Squeak and rattle on front MX

I’ll be brief. Car is out of warranty by 6 months (MX 100D 1 month before Raven model), I had the half shafts and front control arms replaced in the last year (whilst under warranty) to fix a horrible squeak at full-lock turns, the shudder and “death” rattle on hard acceleration. The problem...

Scrolling wheel on steering wheel easily breaks. Is the part available separately?

I'll check it out. Car is only just out of warranty so it'll be a DIY job along with condensation in the rear lights that has started to pool water :(

Scrolling wheel on steering wheel easily breaks. Is the part available separately?

[edit above post] type of printer - just realised that the wheel is a little rubbery so a 3d printed part might feel a little different! [edit] my scroll wheel just magically worked again perfectly after some SC juice..maybe Elon is listening

Scrolling wheel on steering wheel easily breaks. Is the part available separately?

My LHS scroll wheel and buttons are becoming a little "iffy" and the rotary decoder seems to only pick up 20% of clicks. Has anyone tried replacing the decoder on the PCB? Seems like a very cheap and easy fix if the PCB is accessible. As for the dial I'd be happy to print out new dials for...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Who did you extend with? I’ve only come across one company at around £3k for 3 years if I recall correctly. I’ve had a number of issues with mine including replacement of AC unit, squeaky suspension, issues with autopilot requiring camera replacement.

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

My PCP comes to an end in June and was toying with part-ex for a year and then getting a new X, but now I'm thinking to hold onto my early Raven with free-supercharging. To extend the warranty or not-extend the warranty, that is the real question?! o_O

    Autopilot freaks out with wipers

It's not that I'm stuck with the wipers on (I know they suck), it is that if I wash the windows whilst in autopilot, the car will swerve and try to make a correction to the direction of travel as if the car has drifted over a line or about to impact another vehicle. It's pretty dangerous - I'll...

    Autopilot freaks out with wipers

I had my MX in to replace the driveshafts a few weeks back to fix the vibration on acceleration issue and asked them to replace the wipers. After a long trip down to the alps I noticed that the car would freak out when on autopilot and spraying the windows with wiper fluid. This happened so...

EV's to pay Road Tax from April 2025

I was expecting a phased approach but cannot complain as I haven’t have been paying £0 a year for the past 8 years. I presume the luxury tax is only due for 5 years after registration i.e. cars registered before 2020 will only pay £165/year? As others mentioned I’m not pleased if they don’t...

Rhythmic vibration at speeds above 80mph

The frequency of the on/off vibration varies with speed (higher the faster you go) and almost becomes a permanent vibration at 100+. It’s not heavy and quite mild. I’ll check at my local tyre shop when I’m back in the UK for alignment or imbalance in the tyres.

Rhythmic vibration at speeds above 80mph

I’m out in Europe for the week and it was something I noticed earlier in the year. At speeds above 80mph there is a rhythmic vibration in the car which increases with speed. It’s about 1-2 seconds of mild vibration, then no vibration for a similar period. At around 90-100mph the vibration is...

Weird buzzing noise when above 40mph

I’ve got the same noise in my MX (2019). Without sounding too precise I used to have exactly the same noise in my previous car which I found out was a bunch of vibrating pens and biros with a worn out elastic band holding them together. I don’t have these pens in the MX :( so I don’t know where...

[UK] Premium Connectivity Progress - pre mid July 2019 orders

TBH it's not a big deal and as others have mentioned that Spotify was a little patchy and I rarely used the satellite view. The only thing that I'm not sure about is the real-time traffic and if premium connectivity will re-route based on bad traffic. It's only £10/month...as is my Netflix...

[UK] Premium Connectivity Progress - pre mid July 2019 orders

I get your point regarding what was included at point of order, but my argument would be the car came with premium connectivity and there is no mention of it being only limited to a year on the order.

[UK] Premium Connectivity Progress - pre mid July 2019 orders

I don't have these details as it was an inventory car, only the invoice. The spec attached is not my car but was from a list of cars that were given as an option - these were the details that I only ever saw and they are mirrored on my invoice.

[UK] Premium Connectivity Progress - pre mid July 2019 orders

Model X. There is nothing on my invoice that says 1 year premium connectivity only that "premium upgrades package" is included. (edit) I've fired off an email to [email protected] to see what they say. Previous attempts have always been via the Tesla website with no response...

[UK] Premium Connectivity Progress - pre mid July 2019 orders

So I've just come back from an SC after a few issues and raised the premium connectivity removal from my car (purchased 22nd May 2019) and was told that it has been like this since 2018  They even sent me a screenshot from somewhere. I've raised two "complaints" to Tesla, both of...

Rear bike rack (Model 3 / SUV )

Shame as Halfords currently have the Thule Xpress for the tow hitch for £54.99. Took it out this weekend with a couple of bikes and works great. Downside is that you need to remove bikes before the boot can be opened - but I’m guessing this is the case with most bike racks.

    Is Tesla Service still running?

I picked mine up from the Drayton service centre yesterday for a windscreen replacement so I presume everything is still ok. They did mention they were running with reduced staff and to be patient with paperwork and fetching the keys/car.

Luxury Car Tax RIP - Budget 2020

    Airport Parking - Purple Parking

+1 valet mode plus whenever I’ve left my car with a drop off service I normally find there are plenty of other cars they’d rather joyride with. I do recall one time I left a car at Gatwick i tracked it sitting at a body workshop nearby. My heart sank but then realised when I picked it up the...

    Trip to the Alps

There were a number of public charge points in Morzine and Les Gets that you could get an overnight charge at but we were lucky enough to have a driveway/parking spot beside the chalet to run a cable out of the bathroom window to top up to 100%. The worst bit of the journey for us was making...

    Anyone in the alps?

It was a warm week so the snow was a bit slushy down at Les Gets and Morzine town level. Avoriaz was better as was most of the pistes at higher altitudes. It did dump a load mid-week which made a huge difference and the forecast does look good for next week. You’ll probably need some suitable...

    Trip to the Alps

We’re just on our way back from a week in Morzine and staying just outside Reims. Our itinerary was a 12:30pm tunnel crossing and then a stay outside Dijon (about 7-8 hours drive from Calais including stops for charging). Then the following morning a 2-3 hour drive to le mountains (including a...

    Anyone in the alps?

It’s been a warm week so disappointed the winter tyres got no use. I guess up in Avoriaz it was a different story. So far so good with the charging and just finished topping up with an extension cable to the car. Only a 1000km back home!

Another SC cockup - any suggestions for painless remedy?

Get some RainX and apply to the windscreen first just in case you get caught out in the rain. Hopefully they’ll expedite the issue given the seriousness of the problem.

Best public EV charger pass for France?

I should add that on the chargemap map you can see what cards will work on charge points. NewMotion (Shell) seem to be pretty widely accepted. How did you go about ordering one? I think more cards the better.

    Third party charging in France

I’d hope so. I’ve got a spare EVSE that so far has worked with Tesla, Leaf, i3 so I presume the Tesla UMC will work with any car with a type2 port.
  37. P

    Third party charging in France

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned before but the gen2 UMC ignores polarity on the Neutral and Live pins so no need for a polarity switcher cable.

    Cracked rear glass

Same happened to my front windscreen on an MX. Taking it to SC in March for them to advise - I’ll probably go to auto glass for advice as it shows no damage from the outside and I cannot feel any crack.

    Borrow some jack pads?

Amazon seems to be flooded with pads for Model 3. I’ll have to check the dimensions of the positioning hole to see if it is MX compatible. I’m aware that they are nothing special, just don’t want the tyre shop to damage the battery. Maybe I’ll just get some pucks and help out.

    Borrow some jack pads?

I’ve ordered some jack pads but I don’t think they’ll be here for Christmas and I want to swap the tyres out for some winter ones before Christmas travelling. MX windscreen crack

Yesterday I noticed a small crack on the corner of the front windscreen. The car hasn’t been out for a few days and there is no visible external damage. I can’t feel the crack on the outside and it seems to be propagating from the corner underneath the blacked out section. The only thing that...

Phone as key and Tesla WC observations

The app has been pretty good in my opinion and has always alerted me to (false) alarms, updates and charging notifications. It’s also really useful when I don’t have my keys on me and I quickly need to open the car. I did freak out the other day when I checked the app in the supermarket to...

Profitable Q3. No need to thank me ;)

Just imagine if world leaders starting tweeting such rubbish... H&L I my opinion is pretty decent for share dealing. You will need to fill out a W-8BEN form for tax purposes but that’s about it.
