clean power alliance net metering question

Thank you. So if I pay then $50 and then I have a credit of $60. Will they give me back my $50? And what happens to the extra $10 in credit, they will reduce that amount to wholesale electricity price?

clean power alliance net metering question

Every time I get a bill I am surprised by thinking I understood how I will be charged for next month, but nooo! they throw in something new. So because net export is paid so badly by SCE I decided to limit my powerwalls to 50% instead of 10%. Therefore, most of the night I draw power from the...

Why are we limited to selling solar energy in real-time only?

Actually now that I ve learnt that SCE will only pay wholesale (like 0.03$ per kWh) for electricity I net produce, I see that its totally pointless being a net producer.

Solar with SCE TOU-D-PRIME vs. TOU-D-4-9PM

Well thats disappointing. I ve been so stingy with electricity I guess no need to worry about electricity saving then!

Solar with SCE TOU-D-PRIME vs. TOU-D-4-9PM

I thought that one gets paid the same rates for electricity that you generate as for electricity that you consume, but it doesnt seem to be the case. In fact you get paid $0.02 for net surplus kWh! Did you know this?

Solar with SCE TOU-D-PRIME vs. TOU-D-4-9PM

Correct. Also the baseline credit will go against you... Still 4-9 seems better than PRIME for me.
  12. T

Solar with SCE TOU-D-PRIME vs. TOU-D-4-9PM

I didnt. My usage was 102kWh. I consumer 1kWh mid peak, 23 kWh off peak, 264 kWh super off peak. And I produced 27 kWh mid peak, 0 off, 159 kWh super off peak.

Why are we limited to selling solar energy in real-time only?

I would also like to empty my battery into the grid whenever I choose to, and I would choose to do it at peak time.

Solar with SCE TOU-D-PRIME vs. TOU-D-4-9PM

I worked out that for me being on TOU 4-9 would yield $500 more per year than on TOU PRIME. Posted somewhere here. But then rates changed. I dont know what the new numbers are but for me 4-9 is still going to give back more $$ than PRIME. Also usage from 9-8 was also expensive, now its changed...

I ll get back with numbers, since I need to find them and also some news: 1. sce's rates have increased quite a bit on january 1st! 2. turns out my electricity is from Clean Power Alliance, and on their website you can opt for how your energy gets generated and you get charged accordingly. I...

    sce baseline credit

Edit: the PENALTY will be limited by the export amount or the allocation amount whichever is smaller. I am still outraged though. Well I am outraged, unless somebody can point out why I shouldnt be? Baseline credit is based on your monthly allocation (however they come up with it is a bit...

    sce baseline credit

Something I didnt realize at first, the baseline credit with SCE says: Baseline credit: $0.07 per kWh up to your monthly baseline allocation But if you export more than import, then they multiply the negative kWh by negative 0.07 and that becomes a positive! I didnt realize this. Is this fair?

    O&R Horrible Experience

In CA you represent yourself. Just show evidence to the judge and the judge will decide whats what. Probably best to go through regulatory bodies first as suggested above.

Should be very easy to take them to Small Claims Court, unless there is something that says you cant sue them in small claims.

Powerwall Install from Semper Solaris norcal

its out there on google somewhere, but attached here is my list as of March 2019. This is what I used. My list only has powerwalls. I added first column which shows cost per 1 powerwall. Just adjust the headers for filtering by using the drop down arrow. It should cover all of CA.

    NorCal PG&E blackouts

Also two. One AC unit's LRA is 145A, I put a surestart on it to reduce by 60-70% or so but its still too much for two powerwalls. However, two powerwalls and solar producing (was making 7kW when I tried, so dont know the lowerst limit yet) at the same time is enough to start the AC unit .

    NorCal PG&E blackouts

I was playing around with my ACs, trying to run them from batteries doing my best not to overload them. Well most times I did overload the system and the power in the house was cut for a split second and then everything was working fine again. I was running off grid.

    help with powerwall tou settings

Yeah its pretty terrible, they do have a TOU-D-PRIME rate for ev owners, I think that rate is even worse for me though because there is a daily $0.4 charge and then either $0.13 (summer) or $0.12 (winter) rates. With TOU-D-4-9PM you get a baseline credit every month, for me it appears to be...

Hi, I would like to export all solar energy between 4-9PM. So only powerwall, no solar, no grid between 4-9PM for me. After 9PM until 8AM I want to last on the powerwall as much as I can. After 8AM until 4PM I can use grid. Suggestions on how I should set this up please. Thank you

    SCE TOU-D-4-9PM vs TOU-D-PRIME

Hi, has anyone with solar, powerwalls and ev chosen TOU-D-4-9PM instead of the TOU-D-PRIME rate? I have solar (10kW), powerwalls (2x) and ev (low miles, not everyday) and think that more money can be made or saved with TOU-D-4-9PM than TOU-D-PRIME, even with its outrageous onpeak "all the time"...

gateway doesnt reconnect to wifi after its tripped

Which system to reduce AC current spike?

A surestart box can start an LRA 145 AC with two powerwalls and solar. With just 2 powerwalls and no solar it does not work, trips the system.

  41. T

Which system to reduce AC current spike?

ok, doesnt sound promising for me so far. I also have 2 PWs. The claim from sure start distributor is 60-70% reduction of inrush current if its a scroll compressor, which my AC is.
  42. T

Which system to reduce AC current spike?

Hi guys, so which system did you end up with to reduce the current spike when AC starts? My LRA is 145, the compressor inside the AC is a scroll type. Sure start, easy start, what other "soft start" system is worth trying? What reduces the spike best?
