Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Today was the day. I have sold all my shares (which I am sure is not much in relative terms on this forum!) a moment ago. Don't get me wrong: I still think Tesla will go ahead and do incredible things in the long term. But I have reached, in fact obliterated, my goals when I bought my first...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think next week is going to be interesting. Either we get another super Monday (or Tuesday), or instead an ugly push back to 1200, bounce to 1400, then down to 1000. The same we got back in March. Then, the virus; now, no SP500: bubble! If the latter happens, I will start offering gifts to...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I see today a lot of strange topics being discussed here. I guess these are TSLA world problems... Haven't been here for a while. Due to personal circumstances I had to close all my positions (except a few symbolic shares around 200) in early March. Though I guessed right the bottom in late...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The level of delusion in the market is incredible. Like all these jobs will be back in a month (or 6)... More likely, given the 4 trillions injected, markets do not really need to care about the real economy. After all, investors know that if there is any issue, plebs will be asked to pay...

And you believe that? Sorry maybe you forgot /s? No bottom yet..

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The appalling inability of governments to lead and coordinate would suggest there is still plenty of suffering for the economy (and markets). Significant negative loops are being created at the moment and everyone is just panicking (which is dumb). Have you heard of any coordinated strategic...

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

Does anyone have an update (if there is any) on expected deliveries? I guess the current SP would suggest getting closer to ~85k for Q1 and ~350k for the year? I agree Q2 and Q3 will be more challenging, but a small climb going to Q1 could help at the moment...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Second time most of the market goes up 5%, we go down 3%. I remember some were saying in January the market had finally understood what is Tesla is all about. Clearly that is not the case. I find this almost more depressing that the SP at the moment.

Is this related to the G7 video meeting scheduled for today? If so, this may be about a coordinated action?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just trying to offer some positive thought (if possible at all!), next week is going to see G7 talks (on Monday, including actions on health and economy), and probably significant intervention from banks of Japan, Swiss National Bank, FED (on Wednesday) and perhaps ECB. So there will be massive...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Jokes aside, if the market cannot stay green even a day and drops again on Monday after all the measures both in the EU and US (and another FED cut at least partly priced in already), even before number of cases/death increase in US, then we really are in for a shock in the system. Granted, this...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No, there is no manipulation. And I have just been infused with clairvoyance on the stock market. In my view, next week should have been the worst (and it will be certainly in Europe for the virus). But I am getting more optimistic we have touched the bottom for the short term. Also @anthonyj...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The manipulation today is off charts....all going up to 7% and beyond, TSLA -5%. It makes sense.
  14. DrMazeppa

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So you think investors are afraid of holding TSLA, but all other stocks are safe (including automotive)?
  15. DrMazeppa

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think the timing of Trump's announcement is interesting, just before markets close on Friday. I would take this as bullish, like declaring 'national emergency' which would allow releasing massive funds (US friends, is this the case, right? - like EU comments this morning). I would also assume...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So, did anyone find any kind of rationale for the big drop (we are back to ADDs...)? If this is about cashing out, why not push it up with the market at open before selling? Today is really weird. More than usual, which is saying something!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Good old MMDs are back! Much better than ADDs (all day dips) ;)

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Is the number of expiring options tomorrow meaningful enough to matter for Max Pain? Trying to think if 550 could be a magnet for tomorrow closing price. Though, I have a feeling someone is using the context to slowly pull down TSLA more than that.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have never seen such a sequence of terrible decisions by people in charge. Massive failure all around. It is so bad I almost want to believe they had a plan to crash the economy rather than think they are so dim. Sad.

Clever government planning lately: If I see fire starting in the kitchen, I could use a fire extinguisher. Or I could wait, tell my family I know the fire will spread to the rest of the house and announce I plan further action for when this happens.

I read an article on SeekingAlpha on Q1 deliveries, and the comments below. Now my eyes bleed... 71k deliveries...ah, don't they know it will be 80001?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

We have some idea about the rate of diffusion now. So, assuming the US and places like UK or Germany follow the Italian pattern, then sometimes next week would be a good candidate as cases go up there. At the same time, cases in Italy should go down. The new consensus could be that we know how...

Just a new measure to prop up the markets. “We are to be meeting with House Republicans, Mitch McConnell, and discussing a possible payroll tax cut or relief, substantial relief, very substantial relief,” Trump said.. How long will this last?

    Coronavirus

So, going back to the virus and its impact on the economy.... essentially it is now everywhere, and in a few weeks most advanced economies will have to face similar issues as those in Italy, because apparently we have learned nothing from China, then Korea, then Italy.... Thinking aloud: maybe...

    Coronavirus

I am not convinced by that. First, places like London or Paris are equally touristy and full of Chinese. But more densely populated. Also, I do not really buy the 'touching' story. It's not like in Italy people do that all the time, especially in the northern regions (where I come from, we never...

    Coronavirus

From an investment point of view, the key question for me is why Italy should be different from other places like UK, Germany or the US. I have seen some data suggesting less cases for these other countries. Is this simply because they are some weeks behind vs Italy? Alternatively, why should...

    Coronavirus

Yes, that is the case. He is a surgeon there. Of course, the situation may not be as dramatic in other hospitals. It is difficult to get clear information from the Italian context. But clearly the health system is under significant stress in some areas of the Country.

Yes, I can confirm it is a good translation of the article from Il Corriere.

    Coronavirus

After the latest move by the Italian government, there will be almost free money shorting stocks on Monday. The level of confusion and unclear information all across the globe is astounding. I am surprised there wasn't a common international plan already in place for scenarios like this virus.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The market surely looks like an addict that needs a shot of morphine once in a while...this does not inspire confidence. In contrast, Tesla is stronger than ever. In other news, last Friday my stop loss on my spread bets opened back in November was triggered (was away for work and I had to add...

Similar feeling here. But it is difficult to enter just before a weekend when one scary news may unleash more of this red ink into Monday... Not sure if there is a typical pattern when fear goes into end of week trading.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed. I just posted a joke which sometimes helps navigate difficult times (at least myself). Long term investors (like my shares positions) just need to hold. Short term trades, well I think we need to see what happens but be 100% ready in a few weeks. April is an interesting month, when...

It surely feels like one (or more) of the big accumulators of the past few months is selling, probably to play the usual TSLA volatility game and buy back once sanity returns. Worst week since 2008 in US stocks, and according to the FT: "S&P 500 racing to quickest correction since the Great...
