    Charging at -6 40 amp 240volts

It would seem charging below zero can be rather slow. Granted the battery is not warm but I’m only chargIn at 8 mi/hr. Switching from energy to distance measuring I do see the 10kW charge rate it just must be the temps. I’m visiting family and have 50 charge with a super charger 67 miles away.

It does not take 4000 homes worth of energy for a Tesla Semi

An Oxford study said that it would take the power of 4000 homes to charge a Tesla semi. I ran the numbers myself and found that solar panels on 5 or 6 rooftops would supply enough energy for a Tesla Semi's annual needs (link). The Oxford study seems to be framed to put the Megacharger's needs...

    Carbon Removal

If we end up making an effort to remove carbon from the atmosphere, are we ultimately going to end up with giant piles of graphite? Investment angle to ubiquitous clean energy

Okay this might be a bit speculative for what we normally talk about here, but there's also a lot of folks here thinking about the long-term and specifically the long-term energy landscape. So: we're rapidly entering an era of (almost-)free, clean, ubiquitous energy. If we're at 1.7c/kwh solar...

    Carbon Credits but for NOX?

Just purchased carbon credits for the first time this year. They don't really solve the problem imo but it seems like a nice small thing to do. Anybody heard of something like that but for other emissions like NOX? At a local level those are a lot more important to me than carbon.

Beating mother nature’s charging limitations for winter

I’ve seen it discussed that charging will warm the battery up to allow for better temperatures for winter charging. Also I’ve read that charging before you drive can help you preheat the pack. But is it possible to keep the pack warm all the time by keeping the charge rate around 10A~...

Can't seem to get a clear answer on this. The ability to win back energy during braking is one of the nicest feature of EVs of course. However, many cars spend a lot ot time getting stuck in stop and go traffic each day. Therefore my question. See if you can fault my way of reasoning. During...
