    Autopilot Mapping as a product

Did anyone catch this in the earnings call? When asked about the value of the data being collected by autopilot, Elon punted by saying that they didn't want to announce new products on earnings calls. This essentially means that their data is going to be on an order of magnitude better than...

How Does Bloomberg's Cory Johnson get Away with Being so Anti-Tesla?

How can a Bloomberg employ someone so anti-Tesla to provide "objective" analysis? He's been doing this since 2012, anything on Tesla is so biased. Every Tesla quarter is terrible and suspect. And he's not your average click baiter, being on a somewhat major financial network. Tesla Narrows...

    DemandLogic

I am bullish regarding TSLA and SCTY especially in terms of their DemandLogic product. Since utility "Demand Charges" generally represent 30 percent of commercial and industrial customer electric bills, Tesla Energy and SolarCity should be able to leverage their DemandLogic product into...

    Q3 2015 Report & Conference Call

Tesla will release its 3rd Quarter results on Tuesday, 3 November 2015. I feel that this report and call will be more important than usual, because the company will be reporting guidance after a major product launch (Model X). In particular, I am looking for Tesla to answer serious questions...

    CPO program. Only pre-autopilot cars..

The CPO page offerings are only pre-autopilot cars at the moment.. Do you think Tesla will have to lower the price to sell those? They are still kinda expensive, sure you get a Tesla but I think many ppl will buy new instead bcs they want the features that Autopilot brings. Bet the ones that...

Breakdown of some common Bear arguments

Making a new thread so people can add/refute some specifics. This isn't a response to anyone in particular. For some of these arguments, Bears need to pick their issues and stick with their thesis. I see too many complaints that aren't self consistent. For instance I tune out when people...

    Tesla Autopilot Vs Competition

    Why AP matters: Distracted driving

Data from NHTSA from 2011 and 2012 tells us that at any given daylight moment--ie instanteneously that 660,000 people in US are using their cell phone or other electronic device while driving... Do fellow TMC'ers think this number has increased or decreased since 2012? Do we think that the use...

    Fukuta supply role to Tesla

Hey TMC gang, So we've got this guy, Bill K, on Twitter. He's your typical bear with one major exception. He's a total Kripkean dogmatist, meaning he's somehow unable to look at any data beyond the very few data points he has. He keeps harping on Tesla for using Taiwanese "Fukuta" as a...

Tesla may be forced to compensate owners of P85D in Norway

Just a heads up - more than 20 owners have filed a formal complaint against Tesla in Norway, because they feel misled about the car's performance. Will 3rd qtr report include autopilot safety data?

There will be autoaccidents and injuries with autopilot, but I believe key factor would be the rate compared to cars not using autopilot. If a large difference in the rate of accidents with autopilot versus non autopilot then the difference will become more obvious quicker. Four weeks of data...

    Autonomous Car Risk to TSLA

No, not a Mod S driving into a school yard and chasing down screaming children. But rather the risk that it seems certain that Tesla won't be the first to have an autonomous car used by civilians. The slow speed urban taxi, the Google Car, is the doable subset of full autonomous driving. What...

Hi, new to the forums. Can't afford a Tesla yet but the cars are great . I have done "extensive research" the last two weeks about TSLA and there is some missing pieces I wonder if anyone here knows about. I have come to the conclusion that demand and production of Model S and Model...

What would the global demand be for a self driving Model X?

As a speculative exercise, what do you think the global demand would be in the next couple years if current Model X was fully self driving? Based on the current business model for the auto industry of mostly selling to owner/drivers, there's a pretty limited demand for $80K + vehicles. Tesla...

Does Model X get to participate in the Motor Trend Car of the Year for 2016, which I believe gets announced in mid Nov 2015. Does anyone know the timeline? By when does the car need to be in their possession for testing. Also, do they buy cars anonymously (like Consumer Reports does) or can...

Demand drivers for Tesla / EVs

I guess don't understand that either. Because IMO the primary consumer benefits are the low cost of fuel and the lower maintenance costs. I don't think that convenience should even be considered a benefit. It's not a benefit when you need to refuel.

Speculative Tesla owned Uber-like service impact on Tesla's Mission and Valuation?

First, to be clear, this is speculative exploration. Elon did not say Tesla will create their own Uber-like service yesterday. I don't see it as a material catalyst for the stock at this point.
