Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

I tested all these tires back to back on either a Tesla Model 3 or Y. I have both a Model 3 and a Model Y (wife’s). My goal was to have a great handling tire (makes me happy) that can handle the occasional snow, is quiet, and has good range. For context, I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S...

Has anyone bought and used Drag DR-83 wheels?

Has anyone bought and used Drag DR-83 wheels? I know that Drag isn't a great brand, but the wheels do look strikingly similar to the Uberturbines with a smaller 19" form factor that I personally prefer. I know that wheels with a similar look are available from more reputable companies like...

My 1 week review with the M3LR, compared to the BMW M135i

So I’ve had my Model 3 LR for a week now and I’ve done a few miles in it, so I thought I'd share my initial thoughts compared to my F40 BMW M135i that I part-ex’d. Just to note, this is the first Tesla I've ever owned. So yeah, those are my early thoughts on the car. Will see how I get on...

Europe Model Y - MIC or Berlin

Hello to all For better understanding, I'm currently in Europe, Portugal. I'm in the process of closing an order on the model Y but then it hit me: Should I get now the model Y (Made in china MIC) or wait (more) for the Gigafactory to get it going with the "2.0" model y with the new battery...

2021 Standard Range Plus Real-World Experience

Currently have a 2021 Model X Long Range (pre-refresh) and we're looking to replace our last ICE with a SR+ Model 3. I know that there's a significant price difference between the MX LR+ and the M3 SR+ but we're split between ordering a SR+ or a LR M3. What are the differences between the...

M3 Stealth Performance vs LR AWD

I purchased my Model 3 Stealth Performance* in August 2019, and my parents picked up their LR AWD in January 2020. I've had the chance to drive theirs a few times and figured it may be helpful to describe the difference in driving performance I've noticed between the two. Basically the LR AWD...

Wiki Model Y 19" vs 20" Decision Guide

UPDATE (June 25, 2021): I went a whole winter with my Replika near-lookalikes, and now I've done several months back on my 20" Inductions. I'm super happy with both. I love the look of the Inductions a bit better, but dang the curb anxiety is real again. They stick so far out the tire, being...

    19" Gemini vs 20" Induction

Wow! It's fast paced in the world of Model Y configuration :D, changes every few weeks to keep us on our toes! Echoing other users thoughts of the induction wheels complimenting the chrome delete on the Y. For an additional $2600 Cdn though, I need to weigh function vs aesthetics. Question...

My experiences with an I-PACE and Model 3 SR+

I'm one of relatively few people who regularly drive both the Jaguar I-PACE and Model 3 SR+. The I-PACE is my daily driver and the Tesla is a family vehicle I'm insured to drive. Here in the UK, the I-PACE's sticker price for the model I drive is about £65,000 whereas the Model 3 SR+ is around...

    Model Y or Cybertruck?

Hey everyone! Ever since the truck reveal, my wife and I have been tossing around the idea of getting the truck and cancelling our Y reservation (for her!). We both like the design but even more importantly the crazy utility if this thing! What about you? A lot of people have mixed opinions on...

Model 3 Performance Dyno Test: Binned Motors?

We finally got an AWD car on our dyno (thanks to our friend Shereef for lending us his P3D) and it was great to find that these cars will work with a Dynapack hub dyno without issue! After seeing the difference between the standard and long-range RWD Model 3, we were very interested to see how...

Vendor Tesla Model 3 SR+ Dyno Test. Faster than LR RWD?

The day we picked up our new SR+, we had a little fun on the highway and noticed the cars seemed dead even, with the SR+ possibly being faster at higher speeds. Since we have an in-house dyno, what else is there to do than get it loaded up and see for ourselves! Here is a graph from the...

    Model 3: SR+ w/ FSD vs LR

So been saving for a while and it’s finally time to purchase my first Tesla. Basically I can comfortably purchase a SR+ with FSD or a LR without FSD (just the basic autopilot)... But both makes it a little tight. Although still doable. If you had to choose one of the two options which would...

It is time that I am interested in purchasing a Tesla Model X. However, due to pricing, I am looking for a used vehicle in the California or Nevada area. I have been doing some research for the past month and I still get confused about what version is what, so I am asking people on the forum to...

Audi vs Jaguar vs Tesla - Globe and Mail

So, having read Globe and Mail's "comparative" review, it certainly comes across as an Audi sales pitch while also stating untruths (“Some time ago, nobody was really interested in battery technology,” Noest said. “This has really changed in the last year or so. Everybody wants to talk to us...

    2013 Tesla Model S P85 vs. 2015 Model S 85D

HI All, I am currently in a market for a used tesla model S. My main preference for the car is how it drives, the look, and mile range. I really do not care too much about the upgrade sound feature nor the autopilot feature because with a car like this, I want to enjoy every minute driving it...

Apparently the Prius prime is better because variable valve timing

From Toyota’s vehicle comparison, I found some funny results. Apparently things that are “best” in a Prius compared to a tesla include “variable valve timing”, and “standard audio system”. No thanks, I’ll take the “not best” model 3 please :p

Sure does feel like AP parity now

After testing on 10.4 and now on 2018.12 driving an AP1 and AP2 vehicle feel almost the same. I say feel as the binnacle display still doesn’t show adjacent lanes, but just because I can’t see it doesn’t mean autopilot can’t. I suspect even though the rendering on the display is different there...

    Headlights - Model 3 vs S and X comparison

For those who might have multiple vehicles, I'm curious to know if the Model 3's headlights are on par or any better than the other Teslas? My Model S is okay at night, but think it could be better. If there's any pictures taken at night that one could provide of the different cars it would...

My friend needs a "sales pitch" why MX vs other luxury SUVs

I think he is looking at an Audi Q7 and told me to give my best sales pitch why he should get a Model X vs any other luxury SUV. I drive a MS and have never owned a "luxury SUV", I can sell him on the benefits of Tesla but as a direct comparison of SUVs I really don't have a frame of reference...

    Another Audio System Review

One of the few benefits of crossing the half century mark on your biodometer is that you can save money on high-end sound systems. Elderly ears just can't get those high frequencies anymore, and your bio-signal processing just doesn't seem to work as well as when you were in your 20s. (For...

    Karma -vs- Model S

I wonder what effect, if any, the recent Tesla announcement that the Model S will launch with a 300 mile range (matching the Karma's full "extended range" while pushing into a similar cost bracket) will have on Fisker reservations. Fisker deliveries are supposedly a year earlier and, though a...
