Install a 40 or 50 amp line for NEMA 14-50 outlet?

My guess is that this topic has been discusses already, but I can't find it! I have a 90D Model X on order and am preparing my garage. I did not move forward with the 72 amp charger on the X opting for the standard 48 amp charger. I called my DS and he said that a NEMA 14-50 can only deliver...

HPWC connected with a plug to a NEMA 14-50

Will a HPWC crimped with a plug to a NEMA 14-50 socket be safe? I am worried about heat, stability, breaker tripping, fire under 40 Amps This way the NEMA 14-50 can be used as a backup in case the HPWC fails; anyone know the warranty on the HPWC? -OL

Roadster to Nema 14-50 adapter available

Hi - anyone have a need for a Roadster to Nema 14-50 adapter? We returned our leased our roadster & still have the adapter. No use for it now that we got a Model S! It would be ideal if you could pick it up in San Francisco . . . But shipping is not impossible. Best wishes, Joe

Where can I find 30 Amp NEMA 14-50 cords?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had a good idea as to where I could find short 30 amp extension cords (one male end, one female end)... ideally with at least one end having a plug that is in line with the cord (instead of being turned out 90 degrees)... also no more than 10ft in length (the...

What to do with your old NEMA 14-50 plug adapter...Make a universal plug!

My dad was doing some experimenting with the UMC to discover how it determines which adapter is plugged into it. The goal was to get 24 amps from a 120V source without buying the proper adapter from the Tesla store. It turns out that the two communication pins (shown in the picture below) have...
