I have seen some intermittent posts about this but wanted to see if anyone has found a good solution.
I park my 2022 Model S in my home garage. I do this manually. If I open the garage door, step into the driveway (does not seem to matter where or by what distance) and I press the reverse...
While my wife is reversing out of our garage, the car shifts to "park" after a few feet. She will go back into reverse, and it will do the same (shift to park). However, this is an intermittent issue...really bugs her. She is alone in the car, fully charged, no obstructions, same parking...
I just pick-up my Y yesterday. Somehow my Y would not shift from "Park" to "Reverse". I have to shift to "Drive" and then move up to "Reverse".
Is this a norm or is it an issue that Tesla needs to fix?
Backing out of my garage, I struck another car that was unexpectedly in my driveway. The backup camera was useless, because the quick controls UI for opening and closing the doors was not replaced by the camera view.
To my knowledge, every other manufacturer prioritizes safety correctly. The...
While parallel parking in reverse very slowly, my Tesla suddenly accelerated throwing me forward and striking the car behind hard. This caused considerable damage (mostly to the other car). My confidence is shaken. Suggested causes include a wheel being locked against the curb and suddenly...
I like symmetry. It really irks me having one high intensity fog and one reversing light on the back of my MS Raven.
I've been hunting for a fix to what I feel is a much bigger problem of just how ineffective my one, asymmetric reversing light is. I know I'm not completely alone in having this...
In Australia the Model 3 has:
One reversing light, on the passenger side. It's white.
One rear fog light, on the driver side. It's red.
Here's a pic I made with some ugly arrows:
The "one on each side" thing is apparently the same for the Model S, but not the Model X. The Model X...
I was wondering if anybody has a guess to why this is happening and how to fix it.
For additional info. I have UP moderates installed and aftermarket wheels. I wonder if something went wrong during installation. I believe the break pads comes off during installation.
When I am going...
Anybody know why the two reversing guidelines don’t curve anymore when I turn the wheel?
They now remain stationary and throw me off when backing into parking spaces.
Thanks.
Am I imagining this, or is the accelerator more sensitive in reverse compared to drive?
In drive (creep off, obviously), I have no problem moving forward very, very gently.
In reverse, a tiny bit of foot movement seems to result in more acceleration than intended. Not dramatically, it's not...
I spent the week with an ICE loaner. It rained several days. Today I finally got my model 3 back.
When I was waiting at the light, it started raining again. At the exact moment I turned the windshield wipers on, the light turned green, and I stepped on the accelerator. And the car went...
If I reverse down my driveway in my M3 the car will pickup speed. Our driveway is fairly steep. Driving forward down the drive the regen is noticeably stronger and prevents runaway.
Has anyone else noticed poor regen in reverse?
This one's dangerous if not addressed. "Hold" is not a very safe indicator of "Still in D or R, ready to launch" There really needs to be a clear indicator that any touch of the pedal will cause the car to move. My wife pointed out the PRND on screen, top/left corner. Seeing it for the first...
When backing up, my S constantly shifts from R into Park! Turns out it's because I'm lightly lifting my butt off the seat to turn and see what's behind, which my S takes to mean I'm no longer there and "Whoa - gotta emergency park!"
I understand there's a hyper-sensitive weight sensor there...
When I'm in reverse, especially if the steering wheel isn't straight, I get a slight noise from the front area. The best way to describe it is to think of it as the (clothes) washer: when that drum starts spinning full of clothes and water/soap, it's not loud, but you can tell there is some...
