Not getting V10? This may be why, Tesla selecting cars for battery study

So I have multiple cars and the 2014 is the one not getting V10. When I asked service what's up I was advised that Tesla Engineering has chosen a group of cars to study battery performance and that those cars have a "special" version 9 firmware to allow closer monitoring of the car. No word on...

What’s happened with the update frequency?

i haven’t had time to run the analysis, but in my 18mths of ownership I don’t remember such a delay between software updates. 2018.48 was the last substantive release and we are coming up on a couple of months now. Should we expect a big one? Why do you think pace has slowed? V9 still has a...

My personal top 10 bugs and quirks in v9.0 (2018.42.2)

Usually, I'm quite positive about Tesla and the way we get problems resolved and updates that make our cars better over time. But there are times when an update is not a good thing and some bugs and quirky things pop up, so your car briefly becomes worse. Since I'm not afraid to share the less...

    Monitor keeps rebooting

I have a 2017 Model X 100D and did the 9.0 software update along with the subsequent update — now v9.0 (2018.42.2 19e7e44). Since the update, the 17” monitor has rebooted about every 10 minutes. Everything shuts down and then restarts. I have tried all manner of “reset” and after this started...

Taking v9.0 on a road trip and discovering some issues (part 1)

This weekend, I took the car out on a 1280km / 967mi road trip to Germany for another aikido seminar. But along the way I discovered a few issues with the update and the autopilot cameras, disabling the auto lane change. Seems there are some issues with the alignment, like they had in the...

Testing the Tesla: official release (2018.42.2) on Belgian roads

As usual, I've taken the Tesla for a spin on my test route to see where we got some improvements. Compared to the unofficial release I tested last week, there are some minor improvements. But in general, I really love the progress V9 brings us!

Tesla v9.0 interface (2018.39.7) also has a new Easter Egg

Of course, we need to do the mandatory V9.0 interface review as well. A lot has changed and even though I was afraid it would not be good, it is actually a quite logical makeover. Camera at the bottom of the screen should be resolved in a next release, Elon promised. Please forgive the static...

    V9 audio glitches

I'm on V9 (2018.39.7 9736c9b) and I've been experiencing intermittent audio glitches ever since. The entire audio stack cut out (usually with some static distortion as it cuts out -- think of someone pulling a 3.5mm out of a jack while actively playing off that input, that's sort of what it...

Update 2018.39.7 (V9) on Belgian roads: it finally nails the dreaded S-curve!

Today I had the opportunity to test the unofficial version of V9 (remember, us non-US folks do not seem to have the right to get the software update officially yet :-( ) Thanks to the new neural net that also take all 8 cameras into account, the improvement we're seeing is unlike any other. Even...

No v9 yet, anyone in the same boat?

I think I was "left behind", I tried to connect to wifi when v9 was first announced, by using a spotty repeater (I have an external garage). Anyways I ditched the repeater since I always received updates pretty immediately via LTE. Still nothing. Someone make me feel better, are we still like...

Was v9.0 rolled out to everybody?

I don’t have it yet. Anybody else? Is it buggy and am I better off waiting for bug fixes?

    V9.0 Home Screen

might be a user malfunction, but in V9.0 is nav always open? I can't seem find a close button.

    V9 Music App

Not really liking the changes to the Music App in V9... The minimal view is fine, and the full screen is fine, but the in-between view is really bad. It now takes up half of the screen, when before it was more like 1/3. They moved the Radio/Slacker/TuneIn selector from being a drop-down menu...

    Cars keep crashing into me...

Or at least that's what V9 shows when I'm stopped in a center lane at a red light. Rather annoying to see images of vehicles, well within their lanes, sliding sideways into mine. Perhaps Tesla should add some metal crunching sounds to enhance the effect...or not.

Turn on rear seat heaters without turning on the air in v9?

I am so used to going into the car controls > cold weather to turn on my daughter's rear seat heater. After the v9 update the only place I have found to turn it on is by first turning the air on by clicking the little fan at the bottom, then clicking the rear seat, then I can turn on her seat...
