I must admit that curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a gentle pull to see if it was locked (with the intention to return it to the second bay it was taking up.) but it was locked.

Reverse up to the left hand charger at right angles to the knobhead. You can then plug in and the big bonus - you block him in until you return and then you can educate him.

It's possible the RangeRover driver in the first photo was merely incompetent rather than inconsiderate. If this was a Tesla destination charger rather than a supercharger, then what they did would have been reasonable - and that subtlety is probably lost on the average person. Not realising that the car isn't charging is a bit foolish, but again in a PHEV it's not nearly as critical to check as it is in a BEV.

The Porsche driver in @thegruf 's photo is just a plonker however.
