The autosteer and autocruise just stopped working on my x today. I noticed that none of the cars around me showed up on my dash although everything else, including the traffic lights and the cones were showing up. I tried reset and deep reset to no avail. anyone know what may be the problem? Thanks in advance.
Cruise (TACC) is usually stopped by something blocking the front facing radar. Ice on the front of the car will do it. If something is blocking any camera views, that will stop auto steer, but generally will leave Cruise operational.
Driving through heavy snow last week TACC stopped working with a message that front radar was blocked. When I stopped at the next supercharger it was obvious why. The whole of the front of the car was covered with a layer of snow!
I had the same problem yesterday. When trying to initiate cruise control, autopilot, and navigation, I got a message ... not available. My M S is parked in an open carport and the temp was 22
I drove about 10 miles and spent about 30 minutes shopping. Returned to the car and the temp was 40. Everything started working.
I had that "unavialable" message kind of randomly for months, and it got worse eventually. Service traced it to a B-pillar camera, intermittent electrically. It was replace and all good since.
Sometimes happens on poorly marked, hilly or very curvy roads. Autopilot asks that the human take over for a while.
I had that problem when showing off Tessie to the local car crowd. No matter what I did, Tessie refused to cooperate. So I slept on the couch that night and by morning she was a lot more cooperative.
