I was feeling a bit left out of the fun of typing ☰ on my Chromebook, so with the kind help of Mr. Google I found the solution: Hold down Ctl + Shift + U; let go of the keys -- an underlined u will remain; type 2630 followed by a space for the desired unicode character I gather this works for Ubuntu too, and perhaps any Linux disto that uses the same unicode engine. Debian seems like a good bet; I don't know about others. Moderator: Sorry for the new thread; I tried and failed to find the other thread that discussed this unicode for other OS devices. Please merge if you care to.
Linux/Unix anything is a treat; but wannabes like me appreciate the Google hand-holding. My first CB was a Samsung -- hardware was poor. Now I have a Dell and I am delighted. My $1500, one year old MacBook Air is wondering what the hell happened.
Lazy, lazy fellow that I am, I downloaded the Chrome extension text expander so that I can type M3 and get Model ☰, but it does not seem to work in the text area input of this forum. It does work fine for Google inbox's edit box. Any solution or easy workaround ?
Since some forums lack reply draft backup, I sometimes type a response in a word processor first and then copy and paste that into the forum text box . . . like I just did here . . . Model ☰ !
