03/2019 to Pre-Shut Down Preorders with no VIN.

Do you think Tesla will focus on those that pre-ordered 03/2019 to 03/2020 after the end of the quarter push? Or still focus on building in batches most sought after? Tesla dropped the expected delivery for a new Model Y to 4-8 weeks on May 30th. So in theory by July 25th all pre-orders (5 seats AWD) SHOULD have been delivered. I ordered 02/10/2020 LR AWD MSM/ White/20" Inductions, and Tow Hitch and not a peep/text/call and no VIN in the source code. Delivery specialist and delivery center just give me the run around about no VIN being assigned yet. Just curious if others are in the same boat and just general thoughts on upcoming delivery after June 30th.

i don't see a correlation. I ordered Feb 8 (AWD LR blue/black/induction), then in late March, after being assigned a VIN and end-of-March delivery date, delayed until July. Then added the tow hitch the day after it was announced. I've now been texted twice in the past two weeks, asking if I'd like to move forward with a June delivery (I'm sticking with July).

So, I don't see any intentional ignoring of pre-covid orders.

But you've ordered a very common configuration (Minus the TH). I just think that Tesla is focusing on the highest sought after configurations at this point and curious when they will shift priorities.

I am in a similar boat.
Ordered blue/white FSD induction and tow hitch on 5/19/20. Got calls and emails to complete paperwork before june 1 to get a June delivery. I completed everything on 5/26. I Haven’t heard a peep since. Also, proactively called my sales advisor and Tesla chat but was given very generic answers to my questions.

In Denver CO here.

I'm happy to share my experience and speculate since I've been thinking a lot about this, too.

I have a similar configuration to you except with 19" wheels, ordered in October. I did get the 2-4 week text on 6/2, but received no other communication since and no VIN. I'm in MA and, based on the tracker spreadsheet, it looks like most cars ordered prior to March '20 with black interiors were delivered here, so the delay is certainly due to the white interior.

As for future deliveries, my guess is Tesla will still continue to build in batches, but I hope that within batches priority will be given based on order date. I also hope that since production has ramped up, the batches will be built faster. Maybe white interiors will be prioritized since there seems to be a bigger backlog of those.

If I don't get my car by July 25, I'l be very upset since I have some upcoming road trips I really want to take in a MY. Crossing my fingers that it is much sooner than that, but who knows. It's annoying to see people in California that ordered just a week ago are taking delivery now.

Same boat.

Ordered Feb 6, Blue/White 20" LR AWD. No correspondence at all since May email when factory opened back up. I'm in Houston.

No, I don't think they will prioritize us. I've seen several posts about orders placed since the factory opened back up and they have taken delivery. Even a few posts about a 9 day window between placing an order and delivery. Let's see if Tesla proves me wrong.

I was a 3/19 pre-order. I get a pre-COVID call asking to finish up the bits in my account to get a car assigned, but told them I would wait until the tow hitch mystery was sorted out. I added the hitch the day it was announced in April and finalized the necessary bits in my account. I had pretty much given up an end-of-quarter delivery this past weekend... I got a VIN assigned on Monday this week. Home delivery in rural eastern WA. I’m still skeptical - as weird as this experience has been. I don’t have a delivery scheduled yet. Fingers crossed.

LRAWD, MSM, 19s, black int., tow hitch.
