He just means that the estimated charge you'll have at your destination can be raised by slowing down, turning off AC, etc.

O ok. I understand. I thought he was talking about already being at 6% remaining and having some way to increase the capacity slightly towards the end of the cycle.

I noticed also this optimum 48 states and National Parks trip:

This doesn't seem good:
* Avoid driving on the side of the road with exits as vehicle will hunt for exit.

Eventually, for a true autopilot to work, it must handle this situation. What the above seems to say is "drive faster and stay in the passing lane" and that's not how all people drive.
