I did a couple of supercharges in my 2016 85D recently and while I would normally see 254 miles range at close to 100% SOC, 230 at 90% SOC and so forth, I saw a reduction in reported range of 5-10% compared to past behaviour.

The %age charge indicator is fine-it’s just the expected range is less than I’m expecting and used to.

Having owned the car for nearly 2 years, I’ve never done a 100% charge for an hour to balance the cells.

Would that explain the sudden reported range loss? Or is there something else going on?

Apparently these things will change over time, so it will settle. I tried to find the article in the main section of the forum, but didn't find it after a brief search. Its in there somewhere and probably updated within last couple of weeks.

I know it wont make you feel any better, but when I have been planning routes, I use 10% battery degradation. I believe that 5-10% is typical for Tesla.
