350 miles should be the minimum for an all weather, all terrain car with no compromise to keeping up with traffic.

350 miles plus twice the supercharger density we have today is death knell for ICE cars

60kWh->75kWh = 15kWh added capacity
Actual Model 60D->75D per WK057 data: 62kWh -> 72kWh = 10kWh added capacity
Range added: 41 miles

90D->100D = 10 kWh added capacity and 41 miles added range

Thus, the good news is 100D is a REAL +10kWh. for $3k

And the 75 is confirmed as the worst deal in history for +10 kWh for $9k...now $7k...

Just spoke with specialist at store (in Austin) he said you can upgrade from 90D-->100D but with a couple caveats:
1. will lose lifetime free supercharging
2. will lose ventilated seats with PUP
3. delivery date will be pushed back to mid-late April

I placed order 12/23, confirmed 12/30.
He said they will cancel out car, re-order using same deposit. Will be subject to $500 fee plus difference (plus any expected changes in whatever build you have, which I did not notice).

I cant see them letting anyone with a delivered car return it to order a new one. Something is wrong here.
In this case, "upgrading" would mean selling/trading in the brand new car and ordering the latest one. Many Tesla owners have been following this upgrade path for the last 3+ years. ;)

I was expecting them to follow the same trend of allowing a customer to spending more money without losing features / benefits or their place in line.

But when they make changes to the design studio they have almost always locked already placed orders into the same design criteria/pricing. If you want to change to something in the new version of the design studio it is a cancel/re-order situation. (New pricing, rules, options, etc.)

I think they made some exceptions like with the facelift since they weren't going to make any more non-facelift cars, but in this case they can/will still make the car as ordered.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned up-thread and I missed it but I wonder why Tesla didn't let the free unlimited supercharging overlap with the 100D for a little while? That would have been a huge demand lever.
They have drawn a clear line between the 90D with free supercharging for life, and the 100D without it. If they hadn't, there would have been many unhappy customers, jealous of the lucky few who got both.

so realistically there are now two battery packs, the 75 and 100 with software unlock for all other options.

Are you theorizing that from now on 90s will have 100 batteries software downgraded? While that sounds reasonable, do you have any
supporting evidence?

I really hope this is the case, please let it be the case!!!
My 90D entered production today and I'm obviously out of luck requesting a change on my configuration :(

Here's a question. I have a 90D on order (ordered in December so have the free supercharging for life). Delivery is estimated at mid-March/Early-April. I was told that even if it came in April due to factory delays, I would still get the free supercharging.

I have a business trip in March and will be out of town the last two weeks of March. So if the care comes in before that, I can take delivery and no issue. If it comes in after I leave, I need to pick it up in April (I don't get back home until the evening of the 31st). Question -- if the car arrives in March after I leave but I don't take delivery until April because I"m out of town, would I still get the free supercharging? I know the original requirement was "order by 31 December, take delivery before 1 April" but am not sure how it changed when they extended the order date to 15 Jan. Did they also push out the 1 April day?
