Now I hope Tesla puts the 100D in 90D cars just like 75D in 60D cars. If this is really the case, I'm definitely changing my order to 90D.

The big questions now is, will it come now soon with the 18650 cells or have they already got it approved for cell 2170 that won't come to Model S and Model X until second half of next year? Elon have several times talked about bigger battery in 2017 and the new cells won't come for some time so why would they ask for approval already? And do they already have the new typ of cells to get an range by NEDC?

They probably don't have those cells and would definitely not send them for approval if the release was that far away (they know that like CARB the database is public). It's certainly an evolution of the chemistry based on 18650 and it's certainly coming very soon. All bets are open, I'd say they will appear on the Website next Tuesday ;-)

    Awesome..my wish list:
    1. Software update to increase the range of my X90D to 100D
    2. Hardware upgrade for AP2.0

What is the possibility that we have 100kw packs in our MXs already? Going from 85 to 90 in the MS didn't seem like enough of a bump... Maybe it was a 15kw bump?

On already delivered X? Probability close to zero. One the ones to be delivered in September? Some chances that the temporary slow down of production in August was also to bring this new battery unit. I'm really expecting the option to happen in a week or two max on the configurator. More wait would be detrimental to Tesla's sales.

Exact same two requirements here as waiting likely until both are updated to go with a new MX. :)

Isn't there a battery spec sticker somewhere that we can look at? We got our MX last Friday and while I am totally fine with the 90D, a 100D upgrade won't hurt

Man if the 100D is an option, I might be tempted to pay the 500 dollars extra to change from 60D to 100D which would be legit improvement. Wonder what costs would be.

I think that Tesla may be using 100kWh batteries in new 90kWh cars (just like 60/75) as evidenced by the higher power of new Model S and consequently better drag times.

What does everyone think the model x 100D range would be? They registered it as 380 miles but that doesn't seem likely. The 90D has 260+ miles. That would be a huge jump.

My cars lifetime average is 349 and I get 257miles from full charge. A 100D will bump it by 30miles to 287miles.

In Europe they use the NEDC driving cycle wish is far lighter and give much longer range, the 90D have a range of 346 miles according to NEDC so 380 so an increase of 9,8%. If you add this to the EPA number you get a range of 323 miles. It's not sure the boost will be exactly the same but around 320 miles would I expect according to EPA.

Last time I looked under my 90D X I saw a 90D sticker down there.
Doesn't mean they'd advertise a 100d that openly by labeling it before they announced the battery but just saying.

The EPA range in the US is 257 miles, so the 100D should get closer to 282 miles (257 * 1.098).

Right, I thought about Moedel S just like the 380 number was about.

Thinking about the same... If cost is manageable.
