110v Charging Max 5-15

I’ve been getting consistent 4-5 mi/hr charging with the 110v 5-15 charger. The app shows 6mi/hr however. I thought 5 was the max for 5-15? It is using 12a which is to be expected.

Thats going to depend on what volts you have coming in at your home. Perhaps your home is running a little higher than 120v, like 122 or 123. Check it in the car. Tesla under rates 5-15 charging but its around 5 ish mph.

120V 12A will give you 1.44 kW, so it delivers 1.44 kWh in an hour. Some fraction is lost to charging losses (heat, battery conditioning, etc.), so whatever is left that goes into the battery can be multiplied by your efficiency (miles per kWh) to get how many miles you actually get from an hour of charging.
