12 Volt Replacement Battery- MF, EFB, AGM or Lion?

Why go AGM? I have used AGM batteries on ICE cars but that was because I wanted better cold cranking power, better resistance to heat and vibration. None of those should be a concern with an EV.
Also, isn’t the internal resistance lower on AGM batteries requiring different charging parameters? Seems like the change to AGM would require some sort of “registration” between the battery and the car’s charging circuit.

Datapoint: my 2018 Model 3’s original 12v battery went sneakers up after about 5½ years. Tesla’s Mobile Service replaced it in my driveway with another of the same for $117. That’s total cost for the battery, labor, and taking the old battery away. No way I could have done that faster, more cheaply, or have it any more convenient.

It will work fine with an AGM battery. That's what I replaced mine with and it has been working perfectly fine. I was also not the first to do it.

An AGM battery can be charged faster, has a higher bulk charge voltage and has a higher float charge voltage than a flooded lead acid battery. Putting an AGM in a FLA place should do no harm.

However, putting a FLA battery in a system designed for a AGM will likely cook the FLA.
