12v replacement--no vent hole?

I assume this is fine. I replaced my 12v battery here in Mexico with a similar one from autozone (different manufacturer, but same size, shape, etc). The only difference is that the replacement battery doesn't have a vent hole for the vent tube to plug into.

No problems right?

Ironically, I had scheduled a service appointment in the U.S. for this weekend just to be safe because I knew the battery was 4 years old and I didn't want to get stuck at work or home with a dead 12v and no way to replace it in Mexico. Then I woke up the next day with all the 12v warnings.

Yes, should be fine. Many replacements for these don't have vents (depending on the tech used). In which case, just set the little vent hose aside or tape it in place off to a side if it ever needs use again.

The vent tube is designed to prevent venting into the frunk and possible corrosion from the sulfuric acid vapors (and also from possible explosion from any hydrogen gas that might be trapped).
