18% Ceramic Tint front and windshield

I recently went to Beach Autosound in Orange County and got my front windshield and windows tinted. Even tho I went with 18% tint to match the rears it still doesn’t look dark and I think that is because of the white interior. Now that summer is here I hope it cools the car.

Night driving wasn’t too bad, I just hope people always have their headlights on or I won’t see them. You know how those daylight savings drivers can be.

The thing is he said 18% on the windshield. It would have been too dark (and illegal) for the windshield. Besides, who makes 18% tint? It's normally in interval of 5 like 5, 10, 15, 20, all the way to 90%. I have 70% ceramic in my windshield and it's basically clear to me. I have 5% on the roof and it's practically not see through unless the sun is directly up there.

yeah 18% would be way darker...maybe miscommunication and its 80%

I’m not sure who makes it but I remember them saying it’s 18% but because of the white interior it makes it look more like 25-30. I haven’t tinted a car in 10 years so this is all foreign to me. I can tell you all about offsets and features all day.

That’s 100% not 18% on the windshield. Companies make 18%, but that’s definitely more like 70%.

Jesus don't shoot the messenger I was just repeating what I was told, people. It's probably 80% or 70% as some of you have said. Overall im happy with how it turned out and has kept the car cooler.

I didn't have my windshield tinted when I had the windows done, however, I recently had it done. For the windshield, CXP 80 was used and the front windows were done with CXP 18, neither legal in Florida.

Nice man! Just got my car tinted today too. I turned cabin overheat off and though it’s still 90 degrees out, the interior temp is a chilly 96 instead of 136.

Llumar Air 80 on the windshield, CTX 30 on front windows and CTX 50 on the rear windows.

I installed tint on windshield. When I was in the snow/blizzard, the defroster couldn’t keep the windshield clear as the tint effectively rejected the heat and prevented it from defrosting. Hard lesson learned. Likely won’t think the windshield again due to that.
