19”’ Vs 20” Tires for Range

Is it true that when you go from the 19” Gemini wheel to the 20” Induction wheel you loose 10-20 miles in range if all things were equal ?

Thanks
No. If all things were equal (weight, aerodynamics of the wheels, tire specs) then basically nothing changed to impact range.

Now you can try this to see what Tesla projects in EPA rated range:

Toggle from 19 Geminis to 20 Inductions, to 21 Uberturbines in the WHEEL CONFIGURATION function in your Ys screen.

You'll see that 19 Geminis and 20 Inductions have similar rated range, and the 21 Uberturbines gets you about 10-15 less EPA rated range.

Weight is a large factor when comparing the efficiency of different wheels, not just wheel aerodynamic efficiency and tire widths. The weight of the original equipment (OE) 19" wheel and tire combination and the OE 20" wheel and tire are within 1 pound. The 20" set up weighs slightly more (not sure if the weight of the 19" Gemini wheel covers is included in this weight comparison.)

Low rolling resistance (LRR) tires can make a significant difference in rolling efficiency with LRR tires being up to 8% more efficient in my experience. Neither the OE Continental Pro Contact RX tire or the Goodyear Eagle F1 tire are LRR tires.
