Hi, Wanted to talk to folks, families that have done this route from Ontario, CA (40min East LA) to Las Vegas. Evtripplanner says I can go straight no need to stop on supercharger, route is 240 miles, my LR is estimated in 310 miles, I tend to drive sportier, average 80-90 mph on that route.. will that be ok? Assuming I am going with 2 adults 2 kids, luggage etc.. Tesla planner said to stop at Baker SC to top 15min, that would be roughly 40miles added, probably as a safe measure... but I wanted to stretch to Primm, thing is there are much less stations over there and since I am leaving Friday noon, I'm afraid it would be crowded in Primm. What are your thoughts? Stop 15min in Baker or Primm, if Primm I would stop for 15-30min to add some miles to drive locally in LV. Also on the way back, I am thinking to charge Sunday noon at the Mall one, but also heard stories of being too crowded depending on the time of the day. It's nerve wracking, best would be 500miles range haha. Hope we can update it in the future Have a safe trip y'all. Cheers!
Saw a YT guy going byhimself at 65-70mph.. and he was able to arrive straight with 44 miles left... pretty good, thing is I am going with 2 adults 2 kids, and probably 75-85 ... most likely I will stop at SC, just not sure which one and for how long.
Definitely skip Barstow (traffic on-and-off that area can be annoying). Yermo would be a good pit stop with kids at Eddie World. I would say that's a better stop than Baker (nothing there really). Primm has more places "closeby", but it's a bit far of a walk from a lot of the stores there.
Hi MIT, That was perfect tip, appreciate it. And yep Kids loved Yermo, good to stop 10-20min, and how fast it charges! Back and forth with 100 miles room left on each destination, gave me a peace of mind.
Nice to know about Yermo. We have not been to Vegas since we got the Tesla. Normally we would stop at Peggy Sue (3 miles) from Eddie World... and then stop at Primm for some outlet shopping.
