20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

Do you have the standard coil suspension? This looks really good. Have you had any rubbing? Can you take a few more pics (like from behind and the side)? I am thinking about doing this over Arachnids, but am trying to figure out how good of an idea it is for a 75.

I have air suspension. But I don't think coil makes any difference..

I'll try to take photos. :)
 
Just got my car back.... Upgraded a 2016 MS90D to 20-in Wheels from a Model X. Coil suspension. Went with Firestone Indy 500 tires 245/40-20 front and 275/40-20 rear. These are my summer wheels/tires. Great value and great reviews on YouTube/Tire Rack. Nice price and handles well. Slightly loud but should improve as the tires break in. No rubbing. Very happy and highly recommended. Cheers!

I wanted a factory look, sticky rubber, and the freedom to drive without the fear of imminent pothole related wheel damage. The 20" Model X Slipstreams fit perfectly and only a Tesla aficionado would ever know they aren't a stock fitment.

Wheels are 20x9 ET 35MM and 20x9.5 ET 40MM. Tires are 245/40 and 285/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sport. No rubbing (except the fronts in reverse at certain angles, like the OEM 21s), no issues.

As a new Model X owner and prospective seller of some used stock Model X 20" Slipstream wheels, thanks for this Thread. I had no idea this (use of staggered M-X wheels on M-S) was a thing.

Like a lot of people, I have available for sale a set of four used original 20" staggered OEM Tesla silver Slipstream Model X wheels...
 
Ok...up for a tyre change in this setup; some hopefully useful info on the original setup of this thread:

The 245/40/20's in front drive excellent, no rubbing, but provide NO RIM PROTECTION WHATSOEVER (see pic below).
The misses (a lot) and myself (a little) took kerb-damage, running these relatively narrow tyres...will be powder coating therefore, but was looking for a better protection:

Now SilverGS is currently running wider front-tyres (255/35/20) with much better rim protection, and also reports no rubbing! These are -2.36% off in circumference, but SilverGS reports no problems with this...so, shall we say the advice for installing 245/40/20 fronts is replaced by the advice to install 255/35/20's? I know I am...

Still really sweet modification...found out yesterday I have the rare 10" rear rims (with a 275 tyre: no rim damage); combination with my Chinese mud flaps takes 8 years off the cars age...love it.

I wouldn't have even thought about checking the rim width. I just assumed they were all the same. Are there some all 9.5 square? Any staggered? Any other sizes? Does any width come in multiple offsets? Any advice on finding 20x10 specifically?

I am considering 255/35 and 285/30 both on 20x10 now for a AWD D, knowing that the former doesn't rub. Would lean in more for 9.5 front and 10 rear if I could get the same tire overhang and rim protection.

295/30 and 255/35 are almost the exact outside tire diameter on paper. Anyone ever try to stretch a 30 series tire that wide on a 10" rim? I'm unclear as to what causes tramlining if you have the proper alignment camber.

Here’s a pic of my 9” +35 square setup in satin black. I’m no longer running these wheels it’s just sitting in storage.

I also got a set of 10” rears reconditioned and was going to powdercoat them to swap the 9” rears but I haven’t gotten to it since I’m on aftermarket wheels now and probably sticking with it.

If any one interested DM me I’m thinking about selling it all.

Made the update on my 2013 P85. Below are my results for everyone's consideration.

Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4
Front: 20x9 +35, 265/35R20
Rear: 20x9.5 +40, 285/35R20

I originally put on a pair of 275/35R20 up front, but they were BARELY rubbing the liners. I tried reshaping and slightly trimming the liner, but couldn't quite clear the rubbing on the louvers in reverse. I also didn't like how the front tires fit because the 275 runs a bit extra wide which made for an inconsistent fit compared to rear. I think I would have stuck it out if I had 295/35R20 on the rear to start with.

I lost ~27Wh/mile with the change compared to my worn out A/S+ 19" tires. Ride quality is only the slightest bit harsher than before, and noise is equivalent.
