Ok...up for a tyre change in this setup; some hopefully useful info on the original setup of this thread:
The
245/40/20's in front drive excellent, no rubbing, but provide
NO RIM PROTECTION WHATSOEVER (see pic below)

The misses (a lot) and myself (a little) took kerb-damage, running these relatively narrow tyres...will be powder coating therefore, but was looking for a better protection:
Now SilverGS is currently running wider front-tyres (255/35/20) with much better rim protection, and also reports no rubbing! These are -2.36% off in circumference, but SilverGS reports no problems with this...so, shall we say the advice for installing 245/40/20 fronts is replaced by the advice to install
255/35/20's? I know I am...
Still really sweet modification...found out yesterday I have the rare 10" rear rims (with a 275 tyre: no rim damage); combination with my Chinese mud flaps takes 8 years off the cars age...love it.
