Beautiful car. Question about the range on a Standard Charge. The close up photo of the speedo appears to show "87m" with the battery gauge bar at about 80%. That seems unusually low. Have you done a Range Charge to see what the displayed miles show? Have you pulled the logs to check the CAC? These are questions that potential buyers will ask. Good luck with your sale.
From your signature it looks like you also have a Roadster 1.5. What does your say at 80%? If you're driving the roadster like it was built to be driven, your real world expected range should be somewhere similar. That display has never ever displayed ideal range. It was never meant to. That's what the battery bar is there for.
2008 Tesla Roadster Orange Signature 100 Edition #83 As you noted, the post says "180 mile range on a single charge." But is that Ideal Range or Rated Range, and is that a Standard Charge or a Range Charge? There is quite a difference. I suspect it is Ideal Range on a Standard Charge, and if so that would be about average for a Roadster with 21k miles. I do have a 1.5. I will have to check my display. But I thought I recalled more miles displayed there with the battery bar at around 80%, and my Standard Charge Ideal Range is only about 160. Anyway, it's a beautiful car and I hope it finds a good home.
Drive her like she wants to be driven and see what the number shows up as when you have 100% range charge
So I checked the range shown by my battery bar display in the speedo and when my bar is about 80% the range is around 106 miles. That is why I commented that the 80 mile range shown in the photo in the OP seems low to me. I realize that the displayed range is influenced by the driving style over the most recent miles of a trip.
Ali, Gorgeous example you have here. Why are you selling? I wish you the best of luck and strongly hope that you get the full $85k that you are asking. As owner of #72, if you get $85k I will be a very happy man! haha
Beautiful car. I understand what you're saying about driving the car hard and that's why it's showing only 80 miles. Best of luck on selling this gorgeous roadster.
You're probably better off sending a private message to the seller than a public posting for such a question... BTW, gorgious car +1 +1
Price reduction bump. As far as the questions on the batteries, yes the the listed battery was the ideal battery life. Your driving style as well road conditions (traffic) will effect your effective range. Plus we have to crank the a/c to max down here in Texas.
