Your KBB screenshot was for a Signature model, also dealer retail not private party. Are you saying this is a Signature?

I'll also ask again, what options does it have? The "over $120k new" you mentioned in your original post seems high.

I dont have a sticker. So not sure on price new.
Yes it is listed as a Signature 85 on the registration.

The car is for sale thru a dealer so yes that is accurate. Private party is still 45

This is a HUGE issue--the DU is likely going to "go bad" and it will do so after the 8-year/unlimited mileage warranty. This will be a five-figure repair for the new buyer.

This car will have a limited buyer pool, but the sooner it is sold, the better, so as to capture this likely failure while still under warranty.
Definitely something for potential buyers to consider when looking at an early Model S now or soon out of warranty.

Its just an 85. Not signature, not performance. Mileage on a electric vehicle is different than mileage on ice cars. There are lots of high mileage tesla model S out there that have had all the kinks and issues worked out. Lower mileage does NOT equal better for many reasons.

I must have guessed.
If your just guessing then either your trying to take advantage of people who may not know the differences between the base, signature, or performance variants or your are just being lazy about making sure the listing is correct. Might try honestly and transparency and see if it sells.

If I were in the market for an early 85 and I saw this I would be skeptical due to its extreme low mileage knowing what I know and what many others know about drive train and battery issues on early model S builds.

Yes, thats it. Im trying to take advantage of someone by selling a 40k car.
Ha.

The car was over 100k new I know that. Do your own research if you need proof.
Clearly your not a buyer anyway.

Anyone who wants it can view the link to the "dealer" who is selling it.

I would find it hard to believe that RWD 85's, NON-Performance, were selling for over $100k back then, but I could be wrong.

The absolute best buyer for this car would be someone who will buy it and DRIVE IT some 50k miles per year, or more, so as to get the new DU in it before the 8-year warranty expires. But that buyer will likely want a car with at least AP 1 . . . .

Hope it all works out!

You're not doing the owner of the car any favors by posting guesses, incorrect and/or misleading information.

You know or is this another guess? If you “know” it was over $100k new then I assume you know all of the options it has. I didn't think a 2013 MS 85 could reach six figures and would be curious to know what options this one has that made it over $100k.

You are correct.....im not a buyer, currently, especially on a car that is way overpriced for no valid reason. If someone offers anything over 30k better take it and run. Its really misleading to advertise it as a P85D when clearly it is a RWD and not a performance variant 85 either. The shady practice of adding the P and the D should be a huge red flag for any potential buyer that knows what those letters mean for a telsa but who are we kidding here. I'm sure the hope is some unsuspecting person will come in there and be mislead and deceived into believing they are getting something they are not.

Got this info from a good ol search of the interwebz:

Taking into account a $990 destination fee, a $180 vehicle-preparation fee and a $7,500 federal tax credit, pricing for a 2013 Model S with a 60-kWh battery starts at about $63,570. The 85-kWh and 85-kWh Performance models are each about $10,000 pricier than version beneath them.

I thought Signature had that darker red paint. Didn't know they had Black option.
Our 2013 Vin was in the 9000 range and picked up at the factory at the end of April '13. Just about fully loaded (not a P) priced at $93,000 including Calif tax, license, etc. I'd have to dig, but think our sticker was $ 87,000.
Sold ours (traded in) to Tesla 5 1/2 yrs 185,000 miles $23,000. (approx)

Yep. A 2013 MS 85 with leather, pano roof, 21” wheel package, and air suspension would've stickered for around $87k to $89k or so depending on build date. The OP is saying "over $100k new" (after first "guessing" over $120k new) but still doesn't explain where that figure came from.

Having the P85D badging on the back of the car in the pictures is clearly there to get someone to think its legit. Its also not a P85 but yet in the description it says its a performance model which it clearly is not.

Hi guys,

I come in peace, have no skin in the game :). People who are literally tag teaming @JPELKA on being misleading, taking advantage of buyers... Have you guys taken a second to look at his contribution to this community? In my brief time here, I have seen him save people $1000s of dollars to people, literally every week! So it's possible that he made a genuine mistake on quoting the sticker price. We can politely let him know of that, rather than coming after him over and over? :)

As for the price of the car... Technically, I suppose the seller can ask for whatever they want for what they're selling. We can offer some information politely like @Ostrichsak does, but to price police this hard... Man...! :)

Anyway, please don't kill me... I'm just a new member, passing by, seeing @JPELKA's work in the past... I have no stake here.

Peace :).

@JPELKA

Not trying to discredit you one bit....I've seen your contributions and appreciate them. This one doesn't seem to fit your normal posts so maybe that's why people, including myself are trying to understand the price and listing.

Yes, the badge was put on by the orig owner.
The car is on consignment at the dealer as posted. Im simply posting it to offer to forum members.
As stated in orig description the car is a 2013 85.
According to the registration it is listed as a 2013 Signature 85.
The signature model if correct was over 100k according to multiple sources online.
Take it for what it is. If your a buyer contact the selling dealer.
This is basically a brand new Model S for 40 grand. Compared to what is out there this is a steal in my book
