Hi guys,

I come in peace, have no skin in the game :). People who are literally tag teaming @JPELKA on being misleading, taking advantage of buyers... Have you guys taken a second to look at his contribution to this community? In my brief time here, I have seen him save people $1000s of dollars to people, literally every week! So it's possible that he made a genuine mistake on quoting the sticker price. We can politely let him know of that, rather than coming after him over and over? :)

As for the price of the car... Technically, I suppose the seller can ask for whatever they want for what they're selling. We can offer some information politely like @Ostrichsak does, but to price police this hard... Man...! :)

Anyway, please don't kill me... I'm just a new member, passing by, seeing @JPELKA's work in the past... I have no stake here.

Peace :).
Just because he may be providing "money saving" demo leads for people (something I imagine just about any Tesla rep can do if shoppers ask), doesn't mean he should get a pass on posting potentially incorrect and/or misleading information.

I think his being evasive is a big part of the problem too e.g., he originally said the car was "over $120k new" and I had to ask him three times to explain where that figure came from before he finally admitted that it was just a guess. He didn't just accidentally misread/misquote the sticker price or whatever, it was by his own eventual admission a GUESS!

I also don't think him calling "SoGA Fan Club", or anybody else, a moron is appropriate either.

2013 Tesla Model S – Reviews – Car and Driver

According to this article the car was over 100k and does not list the 21's as an option ($3500).

According to the article, the car was $96,570 before $7,500 federal tax credit. Given how Tesla identifies car years, the C&D car was clearly a 2012 but even ignoring that how do you know the test car didn’t have 21" wheels? Weren't 21" wheels available as a no charge option on MS Signature? How do you know the C&D test car didn't have equipment that the 2013 model you posted about here doesn’t have? You had mentioned multiple sources, what (other) sources show a 2013 MS 85 Signature equipped like your posted vehicle with price over $100k? After first guessing the car was "over $120k new" you changed it to that you know it was over "$100k new" - how do you KNOW that? Or was it in reality just another guess?

Its just an 85. Not signature, not performance. Mileage on a electric vehicle is different than mileage on ice cars. There are lots of high mileage tesla model S out there that have had all the kinks and issues worked out. Lower mileage does NOT equal better for many reasons.

The fixation folks have with drawing distinction between ICE and EV is unfounded. The engine is not a common failure point for ICE, transmissions grant d can be more common but these older Tesla motors have a way worse track record than any ICE drivetrain.

The rest of the car is a bigger source of failures for all cars and the rest of a Tesla is just another car, if anything they are an abnormally heavy car prone to suspension problems.
Sitting or high mileage are both terrible, EV or ICE. I know people here don't realize it because they on average are not the sort to keep a car till it is shot, but there are a lot of ICE on the road way past 200k. They just don't get the press the Tesla taxis do.

Just another guess, man you are smart. Just move on already and go crap on some other tread.
Maybe you could email the author of the article. I'd try that to get better clarification since this seems to be a discussion about the MSRP of the car, like anyone cares but you apparently. Best of luck. Signing off

Less moving parts equates to less chances of a failure.....early S drive units were replaced not because of a failure. They were replaced because of a milling/whining noise or whatever you want to call it but the noise does not equal imminent failure or issues. If you compare S drive units replaced for failure compared to ICE replaced for failure the percentage is greater for ice when looked at a percentage of units produced

There are many people far smarter about Teslas than I am. I am not trying to "crap" on this thread but you really need to be more straightforward and honest when posting something for sale. Guesses, assumptions, evasiveness, etc. won't cut it and can make it look like you are purposely trying to be misleading or fraudulent when the reality may be more about simple ignorance or honest mistakes.
