2013 P85 Needs HV Battery Replacement - Options?

My beloved OG (vin P13161) P85 appears to have driven her last mile.

A few days ago, got an error code that max charge capacity was reduced; appeared to be some kind of short as error codes were cycling and battery icon was changing. Called tow truck, he "jumped" my 12V and I was able to get her back in the garage and give her an 80% charge. Next day, she got around 70 miles left and errors came back. I bought a starter/charger from the auto parts store to try to jump the 12V again but no luck.

I've read a few other threads on here with the same issue. Tesla wants $16k to reman my battery. I was planning to sell it anyway, so I don't really want to put in the money.

What are my options for selling the car as-is? Is there anyone out there who can fix this issue besides Tesla?

Thank you!

Yes. I would only trust two companies to do replacements like these, and they are both active on this forum, and would usually be able to do that for less than $10K. I have a slightly newer than yours early 2014 S85, and I plan to use one of these companies whenever my battery dies.

Thank you! I'm in Washington state. Do you know of anyone who remans in the PNW? I left a message for Recell anyway!

First, cannot charge 12v battery with anything less than 14 volts. Little 12v battery must be at 13.4 to come alive. My car died at 80 mph on trip. Took Draper Help Desk 9 hours to say. My little battery need to be charged with 14 volts. How? Big wreaker puts out 14+ volts. We charged 30 minutes and car came alive. Got home, changed battery. Can u home charge pack??

I just got my car back from Re\Cell and I can say they were awesome. My car is back in working order and it was not as expensive as what Tesla was asking for a refurbished battery.
