I have a 2014 S whose 12v battery died. Tesla service diagnosis is that the battery died because of a "low isolation condition caused by the vehicle's rear drive unit." Suggested that I replace rear drive unit and battery to the tune of $6k. Do I have any other options? If I just replace the 12v battery will the vehicle be in "trade-in" condition? Are there places outside of Tesla that will do it for less?

Hi Mitch,
while on a road trip ive got the message " car may not restart" the turtle and low power. I then tow it to tesla where they said:
- The bms have detected isolation failures conditions on multiple drive cycles
- 12v dead
- Rear engine needs replacement.
Same price around 6K euros.
have you solved it?
