I’ve seen conflicting reports about the range on 2015 vs 2016 90D’s. Tesla’s site states that the ‘15 is 265 miles and the ‘16 is 294 miles... is that accurate?

I have a Feb 2016 build 90D that was originally a service loaner. With 2500 miles on it, range was 292. With almost 45000 miles on it range is 281. It degraded pretty fast the first year then stopped.

My JAN 2017 90D range was 294 miles at 10K (almost 2 years of ownership). My 2015 85D with 45K miles on it was 260 (3 years). So it appears the newer cell design in the 90D is lasting much better than my old 85D.

Yes. The original 90D had an EPA rating of 288 miles. Later versions, probably after the refresh, have an EPA rating of 294 miles.

My January 2016 90D is now at 281 miles.

Wow sounds like my 2015 is in the shorter stick since today, my 90% range shows 234. That means at 100% I’m at about 264. I’m quite a bit away from it’s normal rating. Seems like there is some really bad degradation in the last 3 years.

Is there something Tesla does about tHat being under warranty?

That's very interesting the the 90D 90% numbers are all over the place from everyone here. Mine is a late 2016 (AP2 HW just came out) and the 90% was 264 miles when I first got it. Now it's about 258. It has about 20K miles on it.

Since the number is the result of a mathematical calculation it is difficult to say what is normal.

My car dropped to a maximum of 100 miles when I had 921 miles on the odometer. They never told me what happened but they did install a new battery because the car was so new.

My 04/17 built facelift AP2 90D gets 245miles at 90% (EU Typical, not US rated but it should be very similar) and 271 miles at 100%.

Although this should be one of the better off third gen 90 packs old owner trickle charged to 100% every day. So this is good with that kind of abuse. I bought it just recently at 25k miles and only drove it 3k miles yet.

Something is definitely weird with the 90's. I know that its tough to compare range based on driving factors and climate and whatever, but it just doesn't seem right.

Nov 15 90d ~ 235 miles @90%
July 16 p90dl ~ 232 miles @90% (v3 battery)

Both have about 40k miles on them. The 90d was when they were charging the $3k for the upgrade from 85. The conspiracy theorist in me speculates that I paid 3k for the badge on the back. (no, not really)

It just doesn't make sense that the p90d and the 90d get about the same range, so that leads me to believe that something shady happened with the early 90 batteries. Its very rare that I go to 100%, but I think both were in the high 250's or low 260's at 100%, certainly not close to 290. Don't worry, service assures me everything is ok.

Tesla used inventory now shows 2015 90D with a 294 advertised range.

I only got 262 at 100%

I'm in the same boat. My 2017 90D definitely registered 294 when it was new, but it's now around 274 (100%) @ 50,000 miles, and Tesla Service says nothing is wrong with it....

That sucks.
