Unless it has been re-certified by Tesla the first time you try to take it in for service it will get blackflagged. No supercharging// firmware updates // Parts or service support of any kind. Not to mention remaining bumper and battery warranty cancelled... Has it been re-certified??

Yeah I mean as long as it can use the SC network and is certified by Tesla its a good deal if you plan to keep it. It could be excellent car to be used for Uber / Lyft or postmates / Uber eats / door-dash etc... I just don't about using a vehicle with a salvage title. I know some of my friends use their Hooptie on postmates here in NYC.

I doubt this is recertified as there is little value in doing so. Tesla will service your vehicle as long as it does not involve the HV system. The recertification will possibly cost many dollars, the only thing you gain is the ability for them to work on the HV system.

I am rebuilding a Model 3 right now and I will not be recertifying.

All valid points, but that red indicator can be up there for nearly anything. I had that annoyance when I was riding around on temp wheels and they didn't have the TPMS sensors.

Well, another issue is the fact that it's still on version 8.1.... My guess is the firmwares are not being updated due to the rebuild.
