2016 90D - administration nightmare.....

First - we love our Tesla - but quickly becoming irritated with the lack of communication from anyone regarding a buy back that they initiated back on 2/16.

History: We ordered the Tesla around 1/2 and finally received it on 1/18 - originally rejected due to issues that were not disclosed - rather large paint and dent issues. By the end of the day - Tesla gave confirmation to repair all issues. We quickly went and picked it up in Dallas.

They asked us to take it to one of their certified people for an estimate which is what we did to find out most of the car has been repainted and possibly repaired which is not noted on the CARFAX. Sean Singh finally told us that they were going to initiate a total buy back of our car and help us find a replacement. That was on 2/16. The last response we had was 3/15 and as you can imagine we are frustrated beyond frustration.

We have reached out to all people involved including tweeting Mr. Musk (which is probably laughable to him) with still no answers.

We have recommended Tesla to so many people and we might have to rethink that recommendation.

We absolutely love our Tesla 90D - we just need answers and resolution to the problems - now rather than later - it's already been later. We've tried all avenues of contact to no avail - if anyone has any suggestions....PLEASE send them.

did you escalate the matter within your TELSA account?[/QUOTE

I don't see a way to do that....we have escalated to every email we have....they now have said they should have the final value docs to us today - not sure what final value is - I would think it's what we paid maybe minus the mileage. Who knows....we just want to be done and enjoy our Tesla which ever one that is...

CPO/USE - we just want to get another Tesla...they are supposed to purchase this one back - that was their option not ours...

Ideally, Tesla should have refurbished a car with some imperfections to like new condition then show it to you but Tesla has its own unique way which can produce lots of headaches with Tesla CPO/Used department.

I am sorry for you and best wishes!

We think they found that parts were replaced and not noted on the CARFAX - when we asked why the advisor told us it had been repainted and that wasn't noted - they came back with we are going to offer you a full buy back....who knows!!! it's just very frustrating to have to deal with their corporate offices...

When they offer a full buy back, does that include fees/taxes with staste DMV/DOT?

UPDATE: We were asked to submit an email/letter with what we think would be fair on the website so we did - it's been a week and we are still waiting on a reply but Sean Singh has been a rock star in all of this. If you are in Cali - he's the best used salesman to go with. I've heard that they are reviewing the file now and possibly the offer is better....hopefully we will be looking at another used 90D soon!!! Thanks for all of the questions and answers...

final update: the car was returned on 4/17 as of today 4/24 the loan has yet to be paid. They didn't offer us the full amount of the purchase price nor tax title and license so we are out over $3000. Yes we chose to accept the buy back as to not have a $67K car with two different paint colors and other damage to it not disclosed. We are so very disappointed in this whole process.

Not sure we will purchase a used one again - sour taste in our mouth and out money still!
