So....everyone should have gotten the Owner's invite for the Solar Impulse Plane private event this Sunday...Who's going?

Am so excited!
going, a friend at work went last weekend. he was a pilot so he was excited to see the plane, but as an afterthought he said there was a blue MS parked next to it. then he told me his wife will allow him to put a deposit for a model III.

What do you all think about presenting the Solar Impulse 2 team on Sunday with a statement signed by all of us, saluting our common mission?

Here's one stab at it:

We the Tesla owners of Hawaii salute the Solar Impulse 2 team for your remarkable effort highlighting advancements in clean, sustainable energy by circling the globe in an aircraft powered solely by the rays of the sun. We share your passion for a better world through smarter energy solutions.

The year 2016 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year in this transformation. During the past week alone, more than 300,000 people worldwide signed up to kick their fuelish habits in favor of driving a Tesla. An enormous gigafactory has just begun production that will eventually double the world's supply of Lithium Ion batteries. It is fitting that your journey continue in this year, and no doubt the awareness you create will be the catalyst that causes many people throughout the world to realize that the time to embrace clean, sustainable energy is right now.

We hope you have felt the spirit of Aloha during your stay in Hawaii. May that aloha travel with you as you complete your remarkable journey.

From Hawaii's Tesla owners

What a great event! Here is history in the making and Hawaii's Tesla owners were invited for a wonderful and personal opportunity to see the Solar Impulse 2, meet the pilots, and learn what they think of Teslas. Doug at Tesla did a great job of getting SI2 and Tesla realizing that we have so much in common. Bertrand and Andre have been driving Model S vehicles, courtesy of Tesla. Great idea all around. Bertrand liked the salute letter many of us signed.

Today on the Solar Impulse Facebook page they included a photo of SI2 landing over the top of the blue Tesla at Kalaeloa's runway. It's great to see Solar Impulse acknowledging the common mission it shares with Tesla and it's great to see Elon Musk and Tesla both doing things that support Solar Impulse 2's mission.

I will be able to attend the May 1st event. I'm not sure if I can make it on the 24th.

I attended today's Social at the Service Center. Doug and two other sales personnel were there. It was mainly to review some of the new features in the recent software update that people may not know about. Also, Doug demonstrated the Summons feature using the key fob and the mobile app. There was Model X to look at but because it belongs to someone, we were not able to get in it. It was very cool, though, to see the falcon doors in action.
