I have a 2014 P85 MS. It began making that loud sound during super charging at about year 6. It does get quieter if I turn off the AC inside the car while it's charging.
I took the car to Tesla service multiple times to listen and tell me if there was a problem and they said it was a normal noise related to cooling of the battery. I wonder if as superchargers get more powerful they generate more heat (higher Wattage) while charging and that's what's kicked up the louder cooling.
I'm not sure if it relates, but a few years ago, the Tesla service center said my front passenger-side AC unit needed replacement. It cost about $350 in TX. They told me I was lucky it was front passenger side and not the driver's side because that one is not as accessible and therefore costs much more to replace.
