2016 MX 75 From dealer

Will FUSC transfer? It should be attached to the VIN with a 2016 build, correct?

I assume it hasn’t recently been owned by Tesla and removed. It’s at a local dealer and I think a recent trade in or auction.

Anyone have any recent info? I read a post that someone had their FUSC shut off because it touched a dealer/auction and wasn’t private party to private party.

Is Tesla the best to call to be certain or would it still depend?

Thx!

Thank you for the link. It looks like it covers vehicles that tesla takes ownership of, which they can alter or remove the FUSC.

Can they remove it from a 3rd party (not Tesla, dealer to private party) sale?

The last page speculated whether Tesla can remove if they don’t own the car.

Darn, seems black and white to me. It should stay with the car unless Tesla retains ownership.

If they own it, that’s a different scenario.

You do understand that Tesla has the technical capability to remove or reduce or enhance any feature or capability remotely. They do it quite frequently. The car is always connected to the Mothership.

I do.

The capability is mutually exclusive to removing something that stays with a vehicle, unless they repurchase or reacquire (read as own) the vehicle.

If they own the vehicle, they can alter remove it, so long as they don’t remarket it with the removed item, FUSC or whatever.

My question is whether I am safe purchasing from a dealer that received a FUSC vehicle as a trade or auction (not auctioned by Tesla).

I don’t think they should be able to remove FUSC unless they retake ownership, it was part of the sale.

If anyone has recent info or has purchased through a dealer (2013-2016 Model that had FUSC) and can comment as to whether Tesla tinkered with it, that would help.
