2016 X - MCU out - Anything I can do?

Hello,

My X MCU went out on 11/23. Tesla remote diagnosed the issue and MCU was the issue. I have been waiting for this part ever since...

MSX VCM TEGRA REV-B/C PROV (64 GB)-REMAN Part #: 2728212-S0-B

My appointment keeps on getting changed every week. I asked for a Infotainment upgrade discount and they said no. Is there anything else I can do at this point? It can still drive and just has the reverse camera on the main screen. Thanks.

Lame. I just updated my 2016 X to MCU2 earlier this week. Let me tell you, it's worth it.

Have you tried reaching out to a different service center to see if they can help? I have heard in Cali that sometimes "shopping" service centers gets you the results you want since you have so many of them.

You can schedule a service appointment and pay $2500 for a MCU2 replacement. About the only option at this point.

Shame that they are treating you this way. If they can't replace the MCU1 within a reasonable amount of time they should comp the MCU2 upgrade. It's not great customer service to keep stringing you along like this.

I just stopped by two service centers and they said there's a back order on it. They said only option is to wait or upgrade infotainment system with no discount. No loaners. Great car when it's working. Lousy service.

I have been waiting nearly 2 months for parts for my MCU1 to MCU2 infotainment upgrade...so not sure tht is much of an option for you either.

It seems like ever since Tesla offered their generous MCU warranty upgrade they are trying every trick in the book to make sure nobody ever gets a claim through.
