Hi, @ArtInCT,

Hope you are well!

P90D... awesome! Heckuvan investment... maybe you want to load it onto a flatbed for those 5 miles! :)

This is wonderful news Jerjozwik! Lets see how long it is in production? I think next Monday may
be a plant shutdown day.

BTW, I went over to visit one of the local Xpel Ultimate installers and detailers here in Conn.
Had a chat and a nice time there.
Quote is reasonable....

I can be with the car and in the shop each day it is there for wrapping (2) and coating.
Can take pictures of the entire operation too.
He is even going to wrap the aluminum inserts on the door sills.
I am getting a complete wrap minus the rear hatch.

I need to tell my Service Center to just remove the Tesla plastic shipping wrappers and leave the exterior of the car as is and then just drive it over
to the detailing shop which is about 5 miles away.

Why did you go with 20s instead of 19s or 21s? (Sorry if I've forgotten an earlier post where you explained your rationale.)

Thanks,
Alan

Will take delivery on Wednesday! Super exited!

-------

Also ended up ordering XO Verona wheels, instead of Niche Ascari. Twice cheaper for the same look (I hope I won't regret it)
Front 20" * 9" with 255/20/40 tires
Rear 20" * 10.5" with 285/20/40 tires

Ohhh that is BIG WIDE meat in the back!

My 90D is off the train in Chicago as of Wednesday, waiting for transport truck to bring it to Highland Park! Cutting it so close, headed for road trip Sunday, Really want to drop off my ol Model S for the new one, and do 2,000 miles with Autopilot.... Suppose road trip could be delayed a day though :D

We need a detailed walk thru video once you get a handle on the various differences between the newer S and your fine vintage S.
BTW, just HOW did you get into the production queue so quick?

That was 2/8. As of this morning, I'm seeing "Late March - April." :frown:
The same thing happened to me. Yesterday my estimated delivery on the site was "Late February - March" and now it's "March - Early April". Not entirely surprising given that my car is supposed to enter production during the week of 2/22, but the slim hope that I might get the car at the end of February is now gone. I'm still hoping for an early March delivery since the car has a relatively short trip from Fremont to Seattle.

I'm still showing late February-March. Maybe mine comes end of February to Portland and yours a few days later :)

In my opinion, 19" look too small on a Model S. And while 21" wheels look amazing, the ride comfort would be sacrificed. So 20" sounds like a great compromise. As for tires, 40 are also a compromise between standard 45 (with 19") and standard 35 (with 21")

I have to admit that quite a few people recommended agains such setup. But I can't believe that there would be an issue if I go with exactly middle values (except for width...).

It's as if I wrote this. Same exact scenario, Seattle as well! A little distressing when I saw it change on Thursday.

As of last Monday, my car hadn't entered production yet (finally got the notice Monday afternoon), and then my delivery specialist told me that it would take over another month to get here (2nd week of March). But just logged in to MyTesla, and it said that it is "in transit" and delivery will be “February 19, 2016 - February 26, 2016!”

Hoping the website is correct and my delivery specialist was wrong, but now I have to scramble a bit to get the wall charger ordered and installed, figure out accessories, etc. I know, a horrible problem to have, but strange that the delivery estimates were so far apart at this late stage. And hoping that it won't change again!

Any update davesm? Following with interest :)

Yes. They confirmed that the updated delivery time is correct, and that they expect the car will arrive in Dedham that week! The only odd thing is that it seems that they won't know when it's actually arriving until it gets there, as they said they won't reach out to me to setup an appointment to pick it up until it's already there...

Monday the 15th of February... early East Coast Time.... MyTesla status is still IN PRODUCTION however the estimated delivery date changed from Late February - March to "."
A period.

So I suspect there is some systems maintenance going on.

Hey BTW, is the Tesla Factory in Fremont on Holiday today, it being President's Day in the USA?

Hi Art--not sure about a holiday today but I have to call my DS about my status so I will report back. I don't think it's systems maintenance--I looks like that for everyone so its more systems error. I am not impressed with the time it takes as well as the level of communication.

Update: just got off the phone with my DS & the car is built waiting for a truck to put it on a train to put it on a truck to get to the SC. My @ss in the seat on March 11th! Fremont seems to be working today.

Spyder14:
Well that is SUPER news! BTW, knowing this, can you share with us what you current MyTesla status is and delivery date?

Hi--MyTesla page has not been updated yet so it still reads "...your delivery date is ." I guess that will be updated in the next day or so when it leaves Fremont & either a bill of lading or manifest is created. Pretty lame IMO. So the update is verbal only. I wish there was a way to find out the train route to Chicago, etc.

Ok, so you have the "." too. And I take it the status is IN PRODUCTION.... so the MyTesla system is lagging a bit... normal especially on a holiday.

As I have either mentioned here earlier or on another thread, when the car comes out of production it then has to be assigned into a transit mode. (Enclosed truck or train). Then transit must be secured.
After that MyTesla gets informed of the schedule for the transit and they can guesstimate the arrival time. However, with the holiday, this is going to be pretty balky. I would say by Wednesday you will know.

Hang in there, this WILL happen.
