Seems like a tiny update which took up 2 version numbers...

They aren't "version" numbers they are week numbers. (The format being YYYY.MM.ver)

And just because they only say it changed Easy Entry doesn't mean they didn't change other things. I seem to recall that Tesla had said there were great things to be released this quarter. (But maybe that was camping mode and easy entry?)

AMAZING! Tesla Listens!
They actually implemented my suggestion I submitted on 11/26!

Thank you for releasing the “Easy Entry” feature in the recent software update. I would like to offer a suggestion of a minor tweak that will help eliminate an issue with the current implementation. When I have “Easy Entry” active for my profile I am constricted by the lap belt when pressing the “Park” button. I have the Easy Entry profile adjusted to fully raise and move the steering wheel forward plus setting the seat higher than my normal driving position. This causes the seat belt to get uncomfortably tight. Very often when dropping off a passenger and they open their door I get the open door open warning while still in ‘D” with the brake depressed. So, instinctively put it in Park and the big squeeze begins. My suggestion is to not use “Park” as the trigger. Instead use unbuckling the driver’s seat belt while in Park to initiate the sequence.

The change to have the seat move only if the seat belt is unbuckled was requested on TMC and done. Many folks will be happy.
It's like the people who implemented it in the first place never drove a car with such feature (my 2004 and 2006 Lexus both had it). They've been working on it for the last 4 years, they finally did it, but it looks like it was outsourced offshore somewhere where people who write the code apparently have never seen this kind of feature in action.

Well, it seems like Tesla is actually listening to user feedback. The "Easy Entry" feature was requested, and it was added within a couple of months....but not implemented very well. Users made viable suggestions to improve it and - voila !! - Tesla has instituted the change in mere weeks. Bravo, Elon !!!

Now if they would fix the annoying change that causes the mirrors to fold / unfold every time the doors are activated, they'd make me very happy (and probably save $$ on warranty mirror replacements). Oh, yeah, and then there's that Auto Pilot stuff, too lol

You have a really unique definition of "couple of months". People have been asking here and on Tesla's own forums since at least 2013, so 55+ calendar months. I guess 55 months is a "couple of months" in Elon time? ;)

As for the mirror, don't even get me started on that. I am an early adopter, my wife is not. She didn't read the f#*!@ release notes for the update. She parked at a business Park underground parking where she usually did, but it has narrow spaces. She got in the car as usual, folded the mirrors as usual and started backing up. She did not expect the mirrors to unfold automatically, but they did, right into a concrete pillar. It just costed me ~$600 to replace btw. I will say this, Tesla does have great service and mirror replacement they now do using their Rangers. :) Still, I wish they would stop changing how the car works - all new features should be optionally enabled! Oh, btw, I hear they did modify the mirror unfold to now only unfold above 10 or 20mph, but too late for me, I'm out $600 because I got the first beta implementation. :(

I, personally, am going to hate this change to easy entry. It already takes too long to finish moving as it is. This will just slow the process even further.

For you the added delay is only however long it takes you between putting the car in park and unbuckling - a delay which you control and I bet could easily get it under a second without much effort. For those of us who put it in park to let people in the car (say after pulling out of a tight garage), the delay is much longer for the easy entry to do a complete cycle.

There is no need to put the car in park to let people in and out of the car. Just click on the unlock icon in the top left corner of the MCU.
