I’m not knocking your car, I’m sure you must love it. You are going to have to be extremely negotiable when there is plenty of new inventory cars for less money and with a new car you get more. Tax incentives, free supercharging(not transferable anymore), new warranty, choice of color and options. People will expect a discount on a used car from what they can pay Tesla for new. A buyer still has to pay tax their own tax on a used car and probably will not expect or want to reimburse you for your personal additions or your tax. Oh yeah, I think you need to take some pictures that show more than the bumper hood and windshield. ;)

Sorry I have no idea how pricing is supposed to work - I am just trying to get my money back. If I do a private sell and declare it as a gift then the buyer wouldn't have to pay taxes right?

Declaring a sale as a gift would be tax fraud and carries stiff penalties. You should look what similar cars are selling for rather than wasting your time asking an unrealistic price. There are used S 100D cars priced cheaper.

    What about $83250 (cash price) + $13520 (mods) - $7500 (tax credit) - $6000 (6 months) - $5600 (mileage) = around $75k?

I posted this in another thread, but as a general rule, you can't expect to recoup your investment in mods.

I know you spent $13200 in mods, they have a value to you. I don’t think you will recoup anywhere near that value. You have a very nice car but I would look at the cpo prices and adjust your price accordingly. GLWS

Looking at others that are for sale, $68-72 seems reasonable

Even if you declare it as "gift" in CA, the DMV will charge the full tax on the car according to their book value.

FYI, a new inventory 75D from Tesla is $75K ($65K after tax incentives 2.5K state + 7.5 federal) currently and it will include free supercharging for the new owner, yet doesn't have PUP package: Inventory Search | Tesla

There is no new inventory. You will most likely have to call Tesla and have someone search for you.

Thanks. That’s what I thought. Every time I’ve asked, they only say they have 100D and p100D’s. No 75D’s. Surprise to see that previous post.

There are around 750 new inventory S’s in the Tesla system marked inventory and more that are marked for not for sale for "inventory control" that can be sold if they want but are reserved for demo’s until the branch wants to give them up.
