Sorry to hear about Transit hell. You're going to love your car when you get it. It is well worth the wait. I'm wondering if the Hurricanes in Huston and Florida haven't caused a bottleneck of rail cars.
Thanks, I'm sure I will! Love the pics of the cream interior we both have, BTW!

Production was done about the 6th, so we expected arrival here last week... possible weather was the cause, but if they are carried on trains, you wouldn't expect that sort of delay, would you? Should be interesting to see details of where/what the holdup was!

So, now there seems to be a 'bottleneck' in Alabama for cars in transit. Anyone else have cars that left Fremont around September 6th plus/minus to the east coast? I expected mine at Tysons (Northern Virginia) last week (original delivery was about September 13, and we pushed it to the 18th because we are out on vacation this week) and it never showed. My Tesla reflected this, and it was actually accurate, showing 'In transit' currently.

DS called today with the news that the car is not even to Tysons yet because of some 'bottleneck' in Alabama. Do the cars travel by train from California to 'somewhere' and then by truck to the Service Center? I know I've seen them on Route 66 in Virginia.

No biggie except WTF bottleneck causes a week or so backup? :D

(Speaking of Production Hell, this is Transit Hell! :) )
Oh dear. I am scheduled for 09/25th, at Paramus NJ. I am already counting the hours. I pray never to get that call from my DS. Do I have to go to church tomorrow and offer up a prayer?

Anything couldn't hurt! When did your car start saying in transit?

I have no idea how many routes there are east or how many loads there are a month. I exited production about September 4th or so (Labor Day-ish) and it's said In Transit since then and still does!

I'm guessing vehicles are listed as "in production" until they actually depart Freemont. My MX100D was ordered 8/20 and flipped to in production 9/9 and on 9/13 my DS confirmed it had reached the end of production line and was undergoing QC inspection. Yesterday he said it was still in Freemont ready to ship via truck - I'm in the Boston area. Expected here between 9/25 and 10/2 with a tentative delivery date pre-scheduled for the afternoon of 9/26.

It seems that depending on when orders were placed and where they are going to, some are shipped via "normal means' (rail --> truck) and others are expedited (no rail) to meet quarter-end delivery goals.

Anyone else out there with a September delivery still showing APH2? From the forums it sounds like most people who had APH2 had their option code change to APH3 during production. I'm about a week out from delivery and still have APH2.

Interesting.... Still wondering what the 'bottleneck' in Alabama could be that costs more than a week. :D. I assume it's rail, but if no one else is getting the same 'delay', it's strange.

Website still shows 'in transit', of course... Hope DS can shed some light tomorrow! (The website says (always did) delivery is 9/8-22, for what that's worth.)

My MX100D started production 9/9 and shows APH3.

As for end-of-line QC - I know it's at least a wash (water penetration test) and a test drive (reward for good employees on the line?). Beyond that, I can't comment on what they do for QC - it certainly seems that from some forum posts over the past few years on the MX, it may be minimal. Hoping for a flawless car upon delivery, but ready to find a few issues in need of follow-up work.

Don't worry. Yours will be an AP2.5 car. I got my delivered on 09/13 and it was still showing up as APH2. During delivery time, I asked my DS to check again if the car was equipped with APH3 to which she confirmed yes. I also got the automated email about my Tesla not supporting AEB for the time being.

Just called Tesla. They said usually the wait is 6 weeks from ordering to start transportation, so he said that the Model X should be out of the factory on the 29 of this month (ordered 20th last month). Hope it can be delivered by the first two weeks of next month.

Regarding TX, you seem to be in an overlap of end of quarter. I suspect you will be requested to pay in full by the 30th to start delivery (because of the Texas laws), then deliver early in October. The value of the full payment goes into the financials as "Customer Deposits".

MX 75D

Stock Black exterior
Stock Black cloth interior
Stock wheels (20")
PUP
Ehanced AP

VIN: 637XX

Ordered 7/24/17
Confirmed 7/27/17
Estimated delivery: September - Early October (though Delivery Specialist says mid-season)

UPDATE 8/27 Status changed to "in production" 8/27 (though it might have been Fri, 8/25)

UPDATE 9/12: Estimate delivery changed to "September 18-October 2, 2017" as of today. Consistent with what I have been discussing with Delivery Specialist regarding a 9/29 delivery date (a date that works well with my lease end).

UPDATE 9/18: Status changed to "Your Tesla has been built and is in transit from the factory" and delivery range is now "September 25, 2017 - October 2, 2017", consistent with agreed-on date of 9/29

So, updating y'all on the car(s) stuck in the southeast because of weather delays (probably freight train bottleneck because of Irma?), my DS now says he is waiting for my 'Model X to be assigned a new transport load.' Which should happen in the next 24-48 hours. I have no idea if that means a freight car will be moved/expedited, or if automobiles are to be moved to a car carrier (truck), or WTF.

It's been in transit since Labor Day (September 2, to be exact!), so, this is interesting. He said he has a few others in the same boat, so may only be cars destined for Tysons. I have no idea how large one train of cars is.
