Software version 2018.7 a3159ea was just detected on a Tesla Model S 90D with Autopilot 2 hardware. The highest previous version was 2018.6.1 641efac. You were alerted per your settings on TeslaFi.com

Hello S folks. I am here from the X sub-forum. 2018.7 a3159ea failed to install on my X100D this morning. I was on 50.3.

If anyone else has that experience can you post that? Just curious if I am alone. Good luck!

Right, both the cars on TeslaFi that got 7 had 5 before. Beta releases.

Not sure this is true. 2018.7 went to a S P100D and 90D. However, 2018.5 went to a S 90D and 75D and X 90D. So looks like only possibly one that got 2018.5 got 2018.7.

Except the population of .5 cars dropped by the exact number that the .7 increased to (5 to 3, 0 to 2). So unless they injected a new car into the mix and put one car from .5 to 6.1, I'm not sure how else the numbers work out.

It may be that .7 is that.... and it's the next round... but it took a while to even get .6(.1) out to most everyone.... I wouldn't expect a next production release for several weeks, whatever it is. perhaps week 10 or 12 realistically?

2018.7.a3159ea is a beta release, it's not what failed to install on your car
I may be mistaken

I stand corrected I guess. When I saw the TeslaFi update in my inbox this morning that said "2018.7.a3159ea" was detected on a S 90D I assumed that the update that appeared on my X100D almost simultaneously would be that version.

My question is then, what did get pushed to my car? We will never know since it failed. But I was wrong to assume it was 2018.7.a3159ea as that would be circumstantial evidence.

Yup. Even today, 2 people on TeslaFi got 2018.7 and 63 got 2018.6.1. Odds are overwhelmingly that you've gotten the latter, and unless you are a special soul signed up for a beta program through Tesla complete with NDA, you aren't gonna be getting .5 or .7.
